Lakers win puts the Lakers as a potential second round opponent.

Nate McMillan fined $25k for telling the truth. NBA didn't say Nate's statement was false. They said it was detrimental to the NBA. Rather than fining Nate, NBA should do something about the detrimental truth.

Tonight's Warriors/Grizzlies game reminds me of the Blazers from years past. The Grizzlies simply has to guard Curry and make the rest of the Warriors beat them. So far, they can't. We'll see if something changes. Up 8 with 6 minutes to go.

It's amusing the GSW have the likes of Poole playing big minutes in the CJ role while Steph sits.

I feel bad for Warriors fans. Their team won the 8th seed fair and square. Grizzlies and Spurs lost their games and don't deserve a chance to steal Warriors playoff seed. Oh well, I'm not going to cry in my beer.

The Warriors won one more game than the Grizzlies in a shortened season despite having the 9th hardest SOS (versus 11th for Golden State). Memphis had a winning record at 38-34. I'm fine with them getting a chance at a play-in. Why a 33-39 San Antonio team still had a chance to make the playoffs starts to water down the meaning of the regular season.

It would be nice to have those guys back. I want them to get better contracts, but we will need good players on cheap contracts.

Four of the lower seeds in the West loss in the first round. All lower seeds, except the one opposed by the immortal Thibbs, lost in the first round of the East. Upsets didn't seem to happen in the first round. I guess several more coaches will be replaced due to failure to perform upsets in the first round. I hope not, as such a standard is not a good moonbeam for any front office.

Hell yeah! The Blazers landed Malik Beasley! I knew Olshey wouldn't let us down!

Neil Olshey wrote:MICHAEL Beasley. A fabulous athlete. His length, quickness, jumping ability and strength combine to make him one of the most difficult matchups. He has range from anywhere on the floor all the way out to the three, but is especially effective with his soft touch around the rim. His left handed jump shot is a thing of beauty, with a smooth release. He has good arc and is very balanced getting his legs under him to get great elevation. Most dangerous out of the mid-post where he can square his man up and attack with a variety of moves; including strong takes to the hoop, a nice midrange pull-up, or simply shooting over the top of helpless defenders. You know, people forget that it wasn't that long ago that he was the #2 pick in the draft. A guy many organizations coveted.

Thinking back, wasnt there a time people thought CJ was more valuable than Devin Booker? I seem to remember people saying that Booker could score but it didn't equal winning, while CJ contributed more to winning.

But with Booker now having made it farther than CJ or Lillard, is his value greater than Lillard's? And if his value isn't greater than Lillard's then does that imply that PHX's roleplayers are making a huge difference in their post-season success?

No. Booker is not worth more than Lillard.

Yes. Every supporting Blazers other than Nurkić (when he wasn't in foul trouble, which is on him) and maybe players like Simons and RHJ where there weren't high expectations massively underperformed in the playoffs. Playoff Powell had one good game. CJ performed well below his season averages. Covington was solid defensively but didn't provide much offensively. Melo was 37 year old Melo - you can't count on him to be an offensive threat every game and his defense at this point is suspect. Kanter was unplayable against Jokić. DJJ didn't even make Stotts' playoff rotation.
