Interesting to read some of the early impressions of Scoot in camp for RW3 talked he's
a fast *****, able to get to the rack at will.

That injection of speed is a decided change of pace from the Blazer teams of the past 35 or
so years when we had Clyde and Jerome Kersey

Ultimately, I don't really care who starts games this year...I'm more interested in lineups and minutes/rotations. However, I'm not sure I can stomach another decade of undersized backcourt. Especially with no legit SF on the team...

I am very much anxious to see the pace this team will play at with Scoot at the helm. I do hope that we can usher in a faster pace of play. We haven't had uptempo basketball in Portland for at least 20 years...even the Mighty Mouse teams were marginally so.

The 80's Blazers teams with Clyde, TP and Kersey played fast but yes it's been a long time since any
Blazers team really tried to push the ball up court.

Are the games on Root Sports again this year? For some reason I thought Root was going away.

We’ll be better mid term than the blazers have been since la/Wes all them left from a potential level. We all know the CJ/Nurk and side pieces tandems were highly flawed. We’re building talent now. And depth.

A lot of people aren’t used to this version of the blazers. Gonna hit hard

Hells yeah!!!!! For the first time since LaMarcus left we're gonna have a team that plays some God Damn defense. If Jerami Grant can get a rebound every now and then we might really be something.

Hopefully Shae will squeeze out Ant of the starting five pretty soon.

Blazers rebuild already looks epic. Everyone said cronin should be fired. Everyone was dead wrong. Hehe

Injuries will happen. At some point Scoot or Ant will likely miss time. Ant in particular hasn’t been the picture of health in his career unfortunately. Not terribly so, but like 20gm per season missed is likely. Shae will get starts this year at some point.

Very annoyed this game is not being broadcast. Any sort of in-arena stream online?

It's funny to see how content creators on YouTube are making videos a lot like this one.

I've read and listened to a few recaps of the first preseason game now...

Overall, they all said the same things: pretty rough--which is to be expected.

Blazers went 4 minutes without a field goal after the first Scoot layup. Grant didn't score in the 2nd quarter. Shaedon still looked pretty passive. All things...but it's still preseason.

I think we need to temper expectations of Scoot, despite his own words and expectations of himself. He's not going to come out like Lillard did on day one and basically put up NBA starter PG numbers, I don't think. He's 19 years old. I expect about 13/4/5 from him his rookie season with plenty of foul trouble...and that's okay. That's what coaching is for. As long as those numbers end up around 22/8/10 with excellent defense when he's in his prime? I'll be happy. lol

Now that we played a finals contender and looked fine starters vs starters?

Anyone want to start?

People who think Ant is coming off the bench need their head checked. The guy is a 25ppg player. Shaedon or anyone we could possibly have short of an all NBA player will not be unseating his starting spot.

Brig don and Grant being on the team will really disrupt Shaedons development as he will be in the second unit with Bronson and if playing with Grant at all he will essentially always be the 3rd or 4th option which is just unacceptable on a rebuilding team.

We simply need to trade away Bronson ASAP and Grant can wait till the deadline. Eventually I am hoping that Shaedon develops over the next 2 years and makes have to choose between Simons or Scoot as our lead guard a lot like the Kings had to in Fox/Halliburton. I think Scoot or Ant brings us back a great Sf/PF in the next 2 years. We are really gonna stink this year so hopefully we can grab one of the great forward prospects coming out this draft and have a core of Ant,Scoot, Shaedon, Ayton and that top 3-5 pick. That’d be an amazing 5 person core all between 19-26
