Exactly my point. Ok, so you resign vets like Grant and Thybulle, but then just leave glaring holes on the roster from top to bottom.

Right now was the perfect time for value signings similar to what the team did the summer Aldridge left.

I think thybulle was value as he can be flipped fairly easily but grant is definitely odd as was our promise to re sign him regardless of what Dame did knowing full well he was half way out the door a year ago

I will now formally disagree with anyone regarding losing Josh Hart as a Blazer ... and I liked Hart plenty.

Getting #23 (Murray) and Thybulle near the trade deadline while trading Hart (and his, now, 4 year $81 million extension) is looking better and better to me. Not getting length at the deadline sucked. It sucks less, now, even with needing a good back-up center, and future moves are pending.

Blazers signed two new new players, one to a full time one to a 10 day… position? You guessed it, PG!

Oops all guards strikes again.

I see Ashton Hagans to a one year. But who is the other PG?

Is Portland going to go hard after Garuba, who just got released by OKC?

They also signed Moses Brown today, Garuba could be worth a shot as well

Nice pickup in Moses Brown. 23 year old 7'2 kid. Was a GLeague all NBA first team a couple of years ago.
Was a starter for okc in his second season, but got very limited minutes since then. His advanced numbers and per 36 minutes look good in those limited minutes.
For a lottery team like us, it's worth rolling the dice and seeing if he can at least become a reliable sub.

Moses has a great deal of natural talent but plays like a doofus - not anticipating he can grow his BBall IQ to the level of a competent rotation guy but worth a shot and at least he can board like a monster and get the ball to our guards.

A young team like us picking up Moses Brown for free is basically an added first rounder from this year 18-20 range - great great pickup to have someone actually ready to contribute.

I like Moses. He's got mobility at the 5 that we haven't really seen for a while. Also, he's like the anti-Nurkic in terms of hands and finishing...so that's good. He's got great hands and touch around the basket. He's a pretty meh screen setter, although it seems he's gotten better in that regard. Will be interesting to see how he compliments Scoot in the short roll.

I can't tell if he's going to be another Gleague star or if the plan is to have him in for regular rotation minutes, but he seems like a natural fit for a team that will be at it's best uptempo and doesn't care all that much about winning games.

What is the status of Duop Reath? He looked damn good in summer league?

No idea. But look what he did to Gobert a couple of nights ago!

Garuba is such a no-brainer that I don't think it happens. C'Mon Blazers dont overthink this.

I would be pleased if we signed Garuba to go w/ Moses.

Puts us in a spot where if we move off Nurkic for basically ballast and a SRP (Looking at you DAL) we would still have some young, actually C sized guys to throw out there.

Would have no issue w/ a year of Moses and Garuba at C - lets finally bottom out.

Moses Brown is a nice pick-up, and I too would really like to add Reath. Adding those two, while dumping the two worthless players in Badji and Stick Man seems like a no brainer.

My hope would be to also add Sharpe and Simmons via a Dame trade, but we'll have to wait and see on that. I think I could easily find some minutes for all four of those mentioned.

And I'd STILL be looking to find a way to somehow trade for Mark Williams, to fully complete a PF/Center rebuild. Overpay as needed, but by using future picks, not players.

Additions: Simmons / Williams / Sharpe / Reath / Brown
Losses: Dame / Nurkic / Some future picks that IMO we wouldn't really need/won't need more youth

And probably better than Moses or Garuba, he does not have ideal size at 6'11 ish? But he is the best move we could make based on the stiffs available.
