I have a feeling they will hold onto Grant unless another option becomes available. Kinda an odd decision to make to trade the best Foward on the team when we don't have a ton of options at those positions.

Now sure if some other team wants him and the return is great, maybe they get rid of him either way.

I think that is really fair for Portland has three guys (Murray, Walker, Camara) who will compete for some
minutes on a Portland team with only Grant who would start on NBA roster.

It's going to be trial and error for Chauncey with a solid rookie in Scoot and his two veteran acquisitions
(Brogdon and TL) have played 12 minutes in the pre-season.

I keep thinking if Portland can somehow stay above water in the early season games, there is talent on the
roster to be a much improved team in the second half of the season. Brogdon and TL could really help if they
can stay healthy for they along with Thybulle have experience help Chauncey bring the young players along.

Our problem was that we’ve been an iso heavy team the last decade plus, and it was so damned predictable that we could never actually go anywhere (win a chip).

Once we got good enough overall, we got beat down in the playoffs by teams that actually played team
Basketball plus defense.

Good point! By the time the playoffs rolled around, Lillard was spent and didn't always have a lot left in the tank when teams really stepped up their defense and drove Lillard to find his teammates instead, making them beat e. Instead of Lillard. Unfortunately, his teammates couldn't do much. The Denver series was an exception when CJ and Hood stepped up.

Trade Brogdon for a 2024 first round pick (20-30 range).

We may see more of that for the next 4-6 weeks with Simon's out.

Malcolm is likely not going anywhere for a while.

Yep, Malcolm is a really solid player and deserves to be on a contender. I'd rather we trade him and get a 1st round pick on return. We can then pick up a veteran PG to show Scoot the ropes (one who isn't worth much on the trade market).

I was worried that Matisse would get 24+ minutes a game. I don't think that's going to happen with Ant out and Toumani making an impact.
Without Ant I just want us to be a team with positional size that leans super hard into Shaedon's scoring talent. Utilize Brogdon for awhile but when Ant comes back Malcom should be dealt and we should get significantly more in return than we got for Hart. I wonder if Malcom + Thybulle could land us a young (maybe a little overpaid) Jumbo wing. Deandre Hunter is a guy I would target, maybe Barrett but I think he's too small to start at 3.
From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

Portland Trail Blazers
$27,586,207 - Grant
$22,500,000 - Brogdan
$10,500,000 - Thybulle
--------------------
$60,586,207 - Total Salary

[b][u]Miami Heat
$29,682,540 - Lowry
$18,154,000 - D. Robinson
$_1,801,769 - O. Robinson
$_3,510,600 - Jaquez
$_2,352,000 - Jovic
--------------------
$56,500,909 - Total Salary

What say ye? Portland takes on Robinson's contract, but dumps Grant and Thybulle's longer, more expensive contracts. Miami gets 3 veterans for a championship push. Portland gets young talent and can either flip Lowry for a 2nd Rd Pick or waive him to go sign for the vet's minimum elsewhere.

I would take any deal that dumps Grant without us throwing in sweetner.
