It's a loss but that is 4 games in a row from Ayton with a monster stat line. This change of scenery might have been just what he needed, it's a bit too early to say for sure yet but this is a very good sign.

I’d like to see him use his size more, but if this output is what we get… I’d be very happy. He has looked closer to a perfect modern nba center his last few.

Sounds like he’s well known to go thru cycles so honestly I’ll judge the acquisition in 5 years, not in the middle of it.

Ayton's been feasting since the all-star break. I guess he averaged about 25+15 with 60%FG and 90%FT. We can only hope it's just another milestone in the upward trajectory in his career

Ayton's stats are empty stats. They come in effectively garbage games where he had a high usage rate. But being able to put up those stat lines in the league isn't trivial. And he's young enough to grow with the core moving forward. And his effort rebounding the ball (looking at you Jeremi Grant) should allow him more offensive possessions to keep him engaged. Anyone expecting the next great big man is going to be disappointed. But he's met or exceeded my expectations. As I constantly repeat, if he was paid half as much, he'd be a fan favorite.

Banton, though. I had ZERO expectations for. The Celtics paid us to take him. I assumed it was a favor from the Jrue Holiday trade, where management just secured some loot to help the Celtics tax-wise. But he has massively exceeded my expectations. Kind of hints at how talent-void the roster is when the Celtics would pay the Blazers to take on arguably a top 5 player on this team. But the situation is what it is.

Didn't even notice this game was scheduled but why are guys like Banton suddenly playing 42 minutes
while Rupert is a DNP?

If Banton was 30ish, I'd have issue. But at 24, Banton is the same age as Simons. Meanwhile, Rupert is raw. Really raw.

Banton however is on his third team and at an age where he is what he is. Rupert is as green as grass but his game
is all ahead of him
