Amazing play and shot by Dame!

Why did Aldridge leave the Blazers again? He played 1 more season then was in San Antonio. Dame & CJ were in their rookie contracts - the season LMA left CJ turned up his scoring and showed what he can do.

Lillard ascended.
LMA bailed.
Such a good beginning … and such a disappointing end.

San Antonio was a top-tier level organization with the prime Kawhi and a few seasoned winning veterans on their squad. LMA got an opportunity to pay less income tax in Texas too. It was a very rational decision and I can't blame him much for moving there.

Had Leonard not gone down with an injury in playoffs that team would have been a serious threat to that prime GSW Splash Brothers squad.

The main reason that was floated around was that Aldridge wanted to be closer to his family.

No. LaMarcus just didn't like living in Portland. He potentially gave up money and an extra year on his next contract to play elsewhere. Not hating. He spent 9 years in Portland.

But if you ask Wizenheimer, it all goes back to that bobblehead night in 2008, where Roy and Oden were featured but not Aldridge. Multi-billion dollar franchise, the Raymound Fatton bobblehead jiggles the belly, and Aldridge gets skipped?
