I want him to be so well-liked in Portland that 15 year old girls on school buses chant his name like he was a member of Menudo or N'Sync or whatever boy band is popular these days. We start winning big and mark my words--we'll enter a realm of McBob worship to match or exceed the short-lived "Dave Twardzik with a perm" whirlwind of 1979.
All hail McBob!!!
Maybe it is time to remove the Ha picture thread and replace it with a McBob image thread.

Nate has always been pretty bad at how to
play and when to play his players (however
it has gotten better) but youre right, Dean
seems to have outdone Nate in that area.. .
But im not going to get down on Dean about
it since he was credited for the new zone d.. .

I honestly believe that about 2% of Dean's sentences start with "you know". After reading the article interview and hearing the postgame interview a couple nights ago.

I dont really wanna dump on Dean either, it was just kind of maddening to watch the Jazz just abuse the blazers on the glass over and over again. Im sure Dean knows more about basketball the I but it doesnt take a genius to see that having the front court combo of Frye/Outlaw out there was killing us late in the game.

When was Demopoulos credited with the new zone? I just havent read that anywhere and when Henry Abbott asked him about it he said:
But on the subject of coach D's sub pattern, it was awful. We certainly didnt deserve to win the game the way everyone played, but we were in it the whole time. Had Joel played around 30 minutes like he should have and Webster stayed out of the game in the 4th, we just might have pulled that one out
One of the things that's been reported on about your winning streak is that you've been seeing good results playing zone defense. First of all, can you describe what kind of zone you've been using?
Well, it's Nate's zone, really. We've been together seven years, and we've played a lot of different types of defenses. Nate played for Valvano, so Valvano used to junk it up and triangle-and-twos and stuff back in the '70s, and '80s. And Nate was a great weak side rebounder. He just understands good defense. It's more a hybrid of all the things that we've experienced, you know, along with [assistant coaches] Monty Williams, Luke [Maurice Lucas] and Bill Bayno, who, you know, played zone at UNLV.

I think the Blazers will do well in this game.
I dont see them winning by big and if they
want to win theyre going to have to play
good. If they just show up & play just to
play then theyre not going to win the game.
Key for the Blazers to win this game.
*Score more then the Wolves.
Another Win Steak??

Im going with
"The team that scores more points in this game should be able to win it"
I could track down the direct quote by old Bill Walton but it went something like that.

First time I heard Dean was the main guy behind it
was on the raido about 3 weeks ago from Quick.. .
I have no doubt in my mind Nate helped with it, but
from everything I have read & heard about Dean
fits what Quick said aswell as later when Mike & Mike
talked about it. Also Dean isnt going to take credit
for it, hes going to say it was a team effort, thats
what youre supose to say!! Hehe.. .but I guess it
doesnt really matter who was behind it, most
important thing is, its working for the most part!!

Haha - I know, basketball isnt a hard thing to understand.
Simple - Outscore the other team!!

I'm pretty sure Barrett and Rice have alluded to that a few times this year during games.
Dean's zone comes from his experience under John Chaney at Temple and the matchup zone they ran there.
