wow, agreed that should be interesting. What is kind of funny is you never know if they would have pulled out Shaq given the choices considering his FT issues.

I wonder what happens if on that day, Shaq is injured and unable to play?

the 51 second game before the full game cancelled, and then Miami has to return to Atlanta on another date just for that 51 seconds?

really this is bad for everyone IMO:

Bad for the NBA: Makes the league look bad
Bad for the Hawks: Im sure they want that win
Bad for the Heat: They really dont need the win, need lotto losses
Bad for the players: I mean honestly how the heck to you get in the mind frame to play less the one min of basketball game after all this time.

But I understand how the league needs to get the game correct its just sad some idiot stat person made such a boneheaded mistake and that somehow it wasn't or couldn't be fixed right away.

It's like a childhood fantasy, playing only the last minute of an NBA game.

I don't think this is a dangerous precedent so much as a curious one. If Atlanta wins, the world will continue rotating, but if Miami wins? Is the NBA proven correct?

The Hawks scorekeepers messed up that Toronto game last year with it going under the radar, and now this. The NBA is stepping in and taking action. This had to be done, but I think the Hawks should probably incur a fine of some kind.

EDIT: The Hawks were fined $50,000 for this. I'd have fined them $5,000,000.
