I really think it has to do with Rudy....

I think Stern was in town to find a way to entice Rudy to come over next year (ie - signing him to a contract that exceeds the rookie scale).

On thought I had was that Portland could sign him, then imediatly void the last two years of his "4-year rookie contract". Rudy then would then have a 2-year contract. He would play the 08-09 season and sign a big $ extension with Portland with 1-year remaining on his deal.

Agreed. In this case though, there is no possible way I will be loving Miles being in a Blazer uni. Hopefully that is hogwash and we really will be getting some good Blazer news tomorrow.
