Potentially big Blazer news coming soon?

Jason Quick teased some very interesting bit of news. He wasn't willing to say exactly what it was just yet, but he did say this...

"The Blazers may have a resolution soon... As regards to their roster."

That to me screams news about Darius Miles. I'm sure we'll hear more in the coming days, but until then, let the theorizing begin!

They're going to cut Oden since he's not producing this year and bring in Smush Parker to sure up the PG rotation.

It's about time! I am tired of Oden just sitting there on the bench! You'd think he'd get up and go out there and produce, we could really use his rebounding right now. Smush was a good choice but I was hoping we could have traded for Marbury or Francis(again)...

He said he'd reveal it the next time he talks the Primetime guys. That means that unless he reports it in his blog, we likely won't hear anything about this until Friday.

that doesn't sound like big news. I think all big news is officially dead until the offseason.

Sounds like either Darius or Fernandez.

Should we....should we hold on to our shorts?

Yeah, it seems like it may be Darius Miles but I'm not getting my hopes up yet. He could just be overplaying a minor detail for all we know.

If the news isn't "Miles has retired for medical reasons" or "Fernandez has officially rejected every offer in Europe" I will burn Quick's house down.

This news is making me really excited.

He said it during the pre-game show on 1080 The Fan earlier today.

Unless it's news like Greg Oden has starting running and is
ahead of schedule for his return this fall, whatever they do
prior to the draft does not really matter.

Well in the Rumor Central section of ESPN.COM....

They are saying Miles has played his last game as a Blazer.

Sounds like this news is definitely about Darius.

ESPN isn't exactly the most credible source around but it's definitely better than what canzano's given us so far. I'm wondering if it's retirement or a buyout assuming ESPN is right on this on.

Hmm, from what I've seen, the ESPN rumor originated from a speculative article from the Portland Tribune:

http://www.portlandtribune.com/sports/story.php?story_id=120458578000394300

The info on miles is near the end of the article.

So where does that put the Blazers cap situation? About $10 mil plus draft picks in 09?
