Maybe play some defense? Sorry, don't mean to be radical. This is what not signing Udoka has done to us. We need to go get him. Or maybe even Bowen. SOMEBODY who can play D at the SF position, because we are REALLY missing Batum!

Yeah, we are DEFINITELY missing Batum, we don't have any dependable person we can just stick on a perimeter guy to give them any trouble.

But still, they're nailing EVERYTHING they throw up from outside.

We haven't improved our team at all. This disgusts me.

So much for those people who were gripping about Brandon's poor pre-season. Now it will change to 'Portland can't win when Roy dominates'.

Excellent, excellent.

Hey Nate, now that you know that Steve Blake is a worthless sack of dog crap, and that neither he nor Miller can guard anything, how about developing Bayless to see if HE could stop the little quick point guards like Aaron Brooks?

Thursday against Denver, no offense. Tonight no defense. Rick Adelman and the Rockets made us look silly, they were just destroying us on that end.

Yet, we still had a chance to win. If Rudy had hit those free throws, if Roy could have saved the ball, if Outlaw didn't get that T.....but they did happen. And yet again, small ball kills the Blazers, and our big men are totally ineffective at punishing them inside.

So far this season, we are looking very mediocre. I feel a bit embarassed that I thought this team was WCF material. We look like 7-8 seed material right now.

What can I critisize Nate for this game? I say they should have played Webster at SF instead of Outhouse. I think Webby has more lateral quickness and would have been a better defender.

Maybe that would be worth a try. Bayless could stop the penetration some. But I wish KP could work out a way to get Hinrich or Rajon Rondo. For Rondo, I'd give up Rudy, Batum, and Pryzbilla.

Well, whatever silver lining we could have taken away from playing horribly but still being in a position to win against Denver has just been shattered. We had our best game offensively (although it still left a lot to be desired, in spite of the shooting percentages), only to be taken to school by a Houston team predicted to struggle to crack 80 points.

We aren't going to sniff a division title unless we ramp up the defense significantly. Greg Oden needs to stay on the floor defensively, because he and Joel are just about all we have on that end that are worth anything.

OKC will not be a walkover. Another 1-3 start for this team would be really, really disappointing. Remember when this was supposed to be the easy part of the schedule? Yikes.

Not last place, but three straight poorly played games is a bad omen for a team that had division title and WCF aspirations heading into the season.

it sure looks like I really made the right decision to watch the Ducks smash USC instead of watching the Blazers lay another egg.

I was thinking the Blazers would struggle to begin the season, but hoping I was wrong. Too many distractions this summer what with the contract extensions & free agent pursuit. And this was the first training camp in a while that almost all of the players weren't in Portland at least 3 weeks early.

Last season they started 1-3. Looks like they're headed for a repeat

Ya know, I totally forgot the fact that they did that last year. And then in the next game, we had B-Roy's crazy shot which seemed to really get them going.

Is it wrong to hope Blake's injury keeps him out of the starting lineup tomorrow?
