What he did show was change of pace, some patience and utility when attacking the basket. Those sort of things playing off Sabonis may be some gold in the pocket here.
Jones looks like he belongs and can play.

Keegan looses him man on a baseline cut for an uncontested layup and Louks immediately calls timeout. LOL love it. Keegan stormed to the bench looking frustrated with himself. Somewhere Coach Brown is yelling

Ford looks pretty good so far. Was hoping we can find a budget point guard this summer. Maybe?

I mean at this point I think I would let PJ go and sign Ford to a min contract and use the small amount left on a defensive 5 like Biyombo.
My preference is the wise old vet as your 3rd PG

That was my preference initially too. Replicate the Delly spot. Just think Ford can handle that spot pretty well and is able to play the way the coaching staff wants him to.

Watched the first half, colby had some moments. High IQ guy, excited for him!

My take as of now is he's replacing delly and duarte replacing TD.

So do you have:
Fox/Davion/Jones
Huerter/Monk/Duarte
Keegan/Edwards/?
Barnes/Vezenkov/Lyles
Sabonis/Len/?

Don't think the coaching staff/FO care about the positions TBH, they're building a roster with as much playmaking as possible regardless of traditional positions.

For those who didn't watch the game Matt Barnes mentioned he was going to try and do more play by play. That's great news on an entertainment level, we need to change it up some.

Reminds me of a few things.

1. An OG on a $20 dollar bill like from the Whig party
2. An extra in a zombie movie, Night of the Living Dead
3. A well used custodial mop

Scary/intimidating however.
Is he bald on top???

I'd imagine his ball handling & play making peculiarities tonight are in part of new guys, learning the ropes and things like that some. But he should get better with that if they want him to do some of it.

But yeah, imagine him getting the ball from Sabonis and other rotations going on, he looks like he should be able to make decent decisions.

So he does have some basketball IQ for sure.

He is moving laterally better.

But still a project for sure.

I still don't like the idea of slotting Colby into the third PG slot, would much rather get a vet there. He's got some point guard skills that he can develop but counting on him to be in the depth chart as a PG (obviously not saying that's the only spot he'd play) wouldn't be putting him in the best position to succeed.

Probably more like

Fox/Davion/Jones
Huerter/Monk/Duarte
Keegan/Sasha/Edwards
Barnes//Lyles
Sabonis/Len/Queta

But like you got at, it's fluid.

Fox 1
Mitchell 1/2
Colby 1/2
Monk 2/3
Huerter 2/3
Duarte 2/3
Keegan 3/4
Barnes 3/4
Sasha 3/4
Edwards 2/3/4
Lyles 4/5
Sabonis 5
Len 5
Queta 5

Most of the guys can see multiple positions

I don't like Colby as the 3rd PG either. Combo guard is a stretch at this point. I view him as more of a SG/Undersized SF combo. I forgot who mentioned it on Twitter but Josh Hart is a good comp.

Ellis is one scrappy and intense guy.

Ford continuing to impress me as a potential 3d PG. Under control, ready to shoot if desired, sees the floor, some passing creativity.

Keegan looking like a stud. Colby Jones definitely might be able to carve out a role for himself this year too.

I expected more out of Queta to be honest. At this point I don't think he will be able to reach the point where he's providing valuable minutes in the league.

Sometimes it takes a bit to develop the big guys, think Whiteside. But I haven't seen anything positive from Queta besides length and some improvement in lateral movement. Last year it looked like he had trouble even rebounding at times with a basic block out.

Not looking good.

He may only have this year to start showing something on this level.

Don't know if Kessler is going to be talented enough to round out. We have shuffled through 10-15 of these no 3 and D defensive SFs that haven't made it

Colby looks good again though

Yeah he just doesn't seem to have a whole lot of coordination, he's all over the place. Ham described him as a AAAA player meaning he's too good for AAA but can't hit in the majors and I think that's pretty accurate. He may be able to stick around on the end of benches for a while but he might be better off in Europe where he can probably find himself a good role.
