One concern I have about the starting unit is Sabonis doesn't seem to be much of a threat to score from the elbow or top of the key. Was hoping he'd take the shot and hit it reliably this season.

I heard Sasha looked good though. Maybe should get some looks with the starters. Force out Duarte if he can't play (man I was looking forward to him and thought last year was an injured aberration) by going big

Was anyone interested in defending or rebounding? I didn't see any tape..

And, I'm not Fox's biggest fan, but, you don't go 0-6 and do nothing

thats what separates him from the great pgs, motor. his lows are too low

I think Duarte should only play when Sabonis is out there lol

Keegan looked good. More confident with his on-ball abilities.

Mitchell is a workhorse and I really want this dude to succeed. He hit a couple of 3s. Hopefully he establishes his 3PT shot this season.

Fox missed shots that he should have made. Not too worried about him.

Other than the dumb 4-pt play, I like McGee.

Very honest presser with Brown, good questions too from the reporters. Decent chance Brown may talk about things you may be curious about as far as rotations, preseason, single game specific.

Also where he sees Sasha

Pretty poor against the Lakers, who rested their stars. Might be a very long season.

Not going to go overboard and I don't think there's cause for concern or anything, however, there are a lot of question marks coming out of the first two games and just take this Lakers game, how are they playing with a much better system than ours without the obvious guys out? They have more additions to the roster than the Kings.
Has there actually been a positive player from the two games? Like, not moments, positive two games.
For these guys to come in shooting so poorly after working out all off season is pretty annoying.

I hate putting a lot of stock in the pre-season but we shouldn’t be looking this bad when this team is running it back this year with the same core.

The SGs - Monk was unacceptably inconsistent last year and the playoffs covered up my ambivalence towards him, and Huerter picking up the crap play he left off.

Team needs to get Sabonis comfortable

What if Davion never gets it offensively?

Huerter needs more shots. He isn't a defensive guard. He is out there for his shooting. Monk and McGee are going to give fans a lot of dumb plays this season, but they will also be explosive.

Regarding Sabonis, I have been left pretty nervous that he hasn't improved that mid range shot. Still looks terrible.

Davion I'm not too concerned about. He is what he is at this point. The shot does look better so if he can just become an average shooter he will be fine. His playmaking definitely still needs work.

It's like these guys are playing without knowing their role, which is understandable even though the starters are the same. You could see they were trying to force Sasha in the early going.

Footage from fridays practice shows Duarte with first unit and Huerter with the second. If Huerter continues to play as he has, and Duarte showed a bit of the two way potential I anticipated when we acquired him like the second game not sure I hate it

some of the Huerter fans on twitter who think Brown is just experimenting innocently in the preseason. His thoughts are code we need defensive improvement and he’s hedging on this as a real thing, Duarte needs to not shrink with the opportunity given. Huerter is better suited at SF anyways as his Hawks advanced stats suggest, so that would mend the backup SF equation and maybe he can grow in that role in the future

I was a fan of that Duarte trade, and Duarte has underrated game. Don’t make me eat my words Chris

Yeah, Huerter gets beat often on defense. And when his shots doesn't fall, he is pretty much useless tbh.

I'm glad Brown is giving Duarte a look in the starting 5. Would love to see the rekindling connection with Duarte and Sabonis.

If Duarte clicks with the starting 5, it would be quite a defensive upgrade at the 2 spot.

Maybe it was the radio 1140 pre game.

But this feels like the start of the preseason tonight.

what is Davion never figures it out offensively? Is he average at his backup position when his shots dont fall? Make or break year Davion, you are about who you are
