Game#2 Warriors (0-1) at Kings (1-0) (home opener)

Post#1 » by blind prophet » Fri Oct 27, 2023 9:06 pm

CBS injury reports has Draymond and Lyles out tonight. Slawson is GTD

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/injuries/

Safe to say both teams should bring it tonight, With Green out rib stomps unlikely.

Will Huerter regain form?

Will our new additions handle themselves as well as they did in game 1?

Vegas has the Kings favored by 3 in most places.

Maybe I'm getting old but our intro was weak.

Huerter with the opening miss and I already want him gone. He’s still starting?

Keegan and Barnes have shown up! It would be big if Barnes produced this year consistently in such fashion

Huerter is 0-3 and bad on defense and at this point it’s on Brown for sticking with him.

Going to need to slow Steph down if the Kings want to win this one.

So does anyone think Huerter is going to regain form soon?

I'm starting to get skeptical.

Huerter will come around. It just depends on whether or not Mike has yanked him by then. Hope he stays with him, at least until around game 12-15. If he hasn't come out of it by then, move him to a 6th man role.

Tonight boiled down to the 3rd. Kings couldn't make shots and the Warriors did. 39-27 was too tough to come back from.
This was a frustrating game overall though. These guys have got to start playing better at home. And there needs to be some semblance of improved D at some stage.

Wasn't a huge fan of the deal to begin with. Didn't see a world where u can run out 5 average/below average defensive starters with no rim protection and think we can figure it out. Even if his shooting comes back, which he's always been streaky, I'd move him.

This is what I never understood. Do people really think these guys are gonna learn to play defense? Sabonis, huerter, monk, Sasha, are never going to be good defenders. Fox, Barnes, Murray are average at best. If we want to improve the defense (which we should) the answer is to replace Barnes and huerter with real defenders. Surround your core with pieces they actually need.

Difference betweeen the teams was much wider than the score imdicates. Fox needs players around him who can actually play, not just defend.

This time around it is sorta odd for me but he is starting to remind me of guys who mysteriously couldn't shoot here. P Pat & Belly Nelly.

Marco is the closer example of course. But the strange thing is he was doing well for part of last year. But I think we either need a legit scoring threat or legit defender. Either one.

No one is expecting guys to magically become defenders. It's about becoming a good defensive unit.
