Trentyn Flowers - Adelaide

decommitted from Louisville to go to Adelaide, potential top 10 guy for me as things stand today but still extremely fluid and there is some variance with him.

I suppose if he really shows out this season he could go top 10. I have him in the late 1st/early 2nd range at the moment. Mainly because he seems to struggle defensively from what I have seen..and he's not much of a playmaker for others and his shooting is inconsistent.

But there's definite potential there. With his size, skill, mobility, athleticism and handle.

Certainly a potential 1st round guy. I'm very intrigued to see how he does this season.

the potential seems to be his only selling point as a prospect ("one day my handle and feel for the game will be good enough to play PG in the NBA"). These tall wing players get hyped up way too much.

I think he'd have been better off playing Division 1.

He is an 18-year-old wing tasked with bringing the ball up against pressure in his first professional games. He looked much better when just being asked to be a wing. He will be fine.

yea, never even looked at him as a ball handler, strictly a legitimate 6-8 type that can stroke it, take a couple of dribbles to find his shot, run the court and defend a couple of positions. Trey Murphy type. no wonder he's hemorrhaging TOs.

i don't mind them expirementing with talent though, esp early, as long as it doesn't completely destroy a players confidence or original cadence. it's def a fine line.

One pre-season game does not make a career.

Gotta give Flowers credit. He got off to a brutal start (on both ends of the floor) in the NBL. But he was able to get acclimated to the NBL game, got adjusted to the speed of the game and got adjusted to the competition, he kept his head up, and really turned his season (and draft stock) around quickly. Happy for him.

That type of resilience is something that NBA scouts will take note of.

I really do not understand why even more prospects do not choose the NBL. You will get better and you will play in intense environments.

If that's the case why not Europe?

Also a far bigger culture shock for a young American going to Europe than to Australia.
