Outsiders who do you think is the best fit for Charlotte if they get the #1 pick?

I'm just assuming that Sarr, Topic, Williams, Rissacher, and Castle are gone since that seems like a mix of guys who have a good chance of going earlier. If Rissacher slips, should they pick him over Knecht or Clingan?

Yeah I was leaning Sarr as well. Castle is probably my 2nd choice, but I doubt they would take Castle #1 overall.Catchall wrote:JustBuzzin wrote:Outsiders who do you think is the best fit for Charlotte if they get the #1 pick?
Sarr probably makes sense as someone who can be a primary player for the Hornets. He's more offensively and defensively versatile than Williams, imo, and he's a better player in general. I'd take a hard look at Risacher, but I don't know if he's really dynamic enough to be a #1 pick. (I liked him when he was slated in the 6 - 8 range).
I don't like the fit of Topic next to Ball.

Who knows with CHA? I have no idea why that franchise does half the things it does. All I know is Williams isn't good enough to think they're set at center so Sarr should be an option. And they'll likely lose Bridges so a wing like Holland makes sense too. Castle would be an adult next to Ball and help hide him on defense and insurance if Ball gets injured again (which he will) so he too makes sense. Personally I'd trade Ball and build around Miller, the 2024 draft pick(s) and whatever they get from the Ball trade but that's just me. Maybe the Spurs would give them both their first rounders and a young guy like Vassell?

I like Castle or Sheppard for them. Depends on what route you wanna take with the team.

I don't want no parts of Sheppard in the top 5.
Castle is a good fit with Melo/Miller. We could use his defense and he plays smart. I know the jumpshot is a question mark, but I would take a gamble if improves his shot.

He is a Senior so I am not sure he had to declare with the extra Covid season and all.

I think he still has a year of eligibility.

Shouldn't draft Knecht period. Grizz has a similar prospect at the same age in Europe right now.

he does, and I haven't seen that he's declared anywhere

FYI, Tristan is not using his super senior year. He's fully committed to the draft.
