Just checked my 2018 board. I was missing all over the place. I had Young 9th, right behind Kevin Knox. Yikes. I also had Ayton 5th, behind Bamba, JJJ, and Bagley.

My only defense is that my biggest gap was between #1 and #2, and I had Doncic #1.

I thought Jordan Adams of UCLA was going to be a superstar. Wanted the Sixers to take him with the pick that ended up being Embiid.

i had shane battier, kirk hinrich, drew gooden and nick collison as future all stars.

i thought josh jackson would be better than tatum.

i thought harrison barnes would be better than klay thompson

I still think Michael Beasley is going to be great someday

I was happy with Thomas Robinson over Damian Lillard

Would not characterize those as misses beyond the "just" ground bound commentary. They had him higher than he went in the draft.

I don't think this one is fair. Jokic had one of the most unbelievable turnarounds in NBA history, if not the craziest.

While this wasn't a draft take. I missed on 5 HS guys in 2015

I also feel like Jokic is a great example of how NBA success is made up of a million tiny plays and small skills that you can or can’t execute in real NBA games over and over again, not a couple ‘traits’ or whatever that are the things we usually talk about at draft time. That’s all stuff that becomes clear only when someone’s actually playing in games, and no one could’ve been sure about it happening in the NBA until it was happening. Even if everyone could’ve done a better job saying ‘I don’t know man, guy really looks like a baller out there.’

I'm still convinced these guys were never given the chance but here's a slew of mine:

I loved Landry Fields in his rookie year. Didn't think he'd be a superstar, but I envisioned him to be a potential starter on a serious contender.

Also James Young.

Some of my favorite misses, mostly rooted in homerism:

1. Juan Dixon would be Allen Iverson 2.0
2. Jared Jeffries would be an All-NBA talent
3. Chris Singleton would be the steal of the 2011 draft
4. Nick Young would go top 5 in a redraft of 2007
