That's a prereq whether or not he plays PG or SG.

No need for super high volume... even 36% on 4 3PA per game will do.

Are we expecting his defensive effort to translate ?
If yes that should be closer to 3-4 attempts.

Very high attempt should be only for pure 3 point specialist which he will never be.

I mean the selling point for Castle is his defense, if that doesn't translate he won't stay in the league for long so it won't matter much.
But if he can improve his shot to respectable that'll help him a lot.

Can we just agree shooting percentage is pointless on small volume? Anthony Black shot 39% this year and is getting dnp in the playoffs despite all the plus stuff he brings.

I agree with Castle improving his shooting over time, but we are probably talking 2-3 years min before he is at least avg and teams actually respect him in a meaningful game. He is a lock for a top 10 pick in this class, probably should get looks at 5 but nobody should be taking a guy that might average 8 ppg for his first 3 years inside the top 3.

Castle was a scorer coming out of highschool.

If you put the ball in his hands and let him run the show then he might be a future all-star. But if you already have scorers then he could be a nice complimentary piece to a team.

I was leaning to your interpretation in terms of volume of 3s attempted over hadaneffecthere

6'2.25 without shoes? That's got to hurt his value a lot.

It almost has to be a typo right? The dude’s Twitter bio says he’s 6’7”

not really. marcus smart was always the closest comparison/archetype for castle and his measurements are essentially an exact replica of smart's.

Now list all the guys who failed in similar situation. It’s going to hurt his value a lot.

Has to be a typo, right? I've seen a picture of him next to Lillard and he looked probably 2 inches taller than him.

Here is a picture of him from today next to Tristen Newton, who was measured at 6'3,25 without shoes.

you could say that about literally any archetype. most guys fail. you could take a guy who is 6'8" with a 7'2" ws and make a list a mile long of guys who failed.

the bottom line is, wingspan and don't forget body type - Castle is a big bodied guard like smart - matter. to ignore wingspan is a fool's errand.

I read it's 6'5" with a 6'9" wingspan. Pretty decent size for a point/combo guard

Those, combined with the rest of the results and his profile makes me think a lot of teams will want to see him up close.

C'mon Spurs, this kid is your kind of player. Take him 4th and never look back.

I think the Rockets might take him or Sheppard at 3 if they decide to keep it. I imagine them going for a more ready prospect at that spot.

Rockets honestly don't need much with all of their depth if Steven Adams and Eason are healthy. They have a squad. So I agree, I think they work out everyone and take whoever they think is BPA.

Here's a kid who "got over himself." He said he went to UConn because he never won anything before team wise and then proved to be a lockdown defender on every scorer he faced. If the Spurs could play him, with Vassell, Sochan and Cissoko around Victor, Spurs would be so switchable and tough defensively. I am hoping it happens.
