Almansa has declared. We've only got three more days for guys to declare and NIL money is drying up so expect a flurry of announcements of guys declaring or changing their minds and returning like Onyenso. I feel like some of these guys that are headed towards a likely 2nd round pick (at best) need to change their minds and return for NIL money while it's still available. There's just so much depth and there's two less picks in this year's draft than normal which will play a role in their decisions to stay in.

Mohammed Diawara (France) has declared. Not someone I expected this year tbh so I'm a little surprised. Very raw but has a lot of promise.

Not interested in relitigating the whole depth conversation but the two fewer picks are not going to have any impact at all. There's no guaranteed contract involved, and players towards the end of the draft even have an incentive to not be drafted so that they are free to talk to all teams or find their way to their preferred destination. That's in addition to 2 out of 60 total picks being a negligible number for such major decisions anyway – no player or agent will be worried about that as the relevant context does not meaningfully change at all.

smart since it didn't go too well for you

of course it matters. You're forgetting that these are kids with lifelong dreams to be drafted some day, not just to play in the NBA, but to hear their names announced to the world on TV for their friends and family to witness. To feel wanted.

There ARE guaranteed contracts. It depends on negotiations. For instance, Kennedy Chandler signed a 4 year $7.1 million contract (3 year $4.9 million guaranteed) as a second rounder in 2022. I do like how confident you sounded when you typed that though!

You do realize that these drafts don't happen in a vacuum right? Teams are in constant communication with agents and players and have all of these things worked out for the most part. There aren't many surprises. Kids know the pros and cons of being drafted or not. And there ARE pros and cons and the system CAN be gamed by players and teams but for the most part this is all agreed upon before the selection.

Bogoljub Markovic 6"11 PF from Mega Club also declared. He was playing in Serbian league this past season, he was one of the best payer there. He would be the good draft and stash pick or maybe they just showcasing his name for the next year draft.
