2ND Q: SPURS 48 THUNDER 58

Just as we came back from an 8-point deficit to take the lead, Pop has to use a timeout for a no help D layup allowed and things unraveled from there with a series of TOs leading to buckets against.

We have given up 12 points on 12TOs.

We were up 3 and gave up a 13-0 run for a 10-point deficit so end of Q details are crucial.

Doug with 3 bad passes. D pressure, sure, but he is a vet and ball security needs to be better.

We're also 14-0 against in fast break points.

Finally, we got to the FT line a total of 0 times this Q. At the risk of sounding redundant, PUSH the ball at them harder, more physicality, find vertical lanes. We put them to the line for 9-12.

As I said before, a bigger 3&D at the 3 is a good type of player to have there. Julian 1-5 ain't it. It's shocking how his last 20 games of last season have fallen off a cliff. No carryover whatsoever. And he's not good enough on D to compensate such a bad shooting game (again). He does have 3 blocks already, so credit there.

You can see why Graham doesn't start. Just leave it at that.

Rebounding effort is translating well. We're up 23-16 and 7-4 on O boards.

Be more efficient, protect the ball better, push to get to the FT line more.

Charles Barkley said it best about Vassell. "You can never be great taking bad shots. Vassell takes too many bad shots. Yes he can make some tough shots, he's a good player. But he will never be great"

Sure its a small sample size of what the TNT guys see of our games, but I agree with him. We need to be better about getting him to take better shots within the offense. Even though our offense is a mess this year.
