We started 23-5; finished 24-8 per broadcast.

Some great team work, hustle movement got us there, along with great shooting.

Some more stagnant, slower, more deliberate / telegraphed play, some huge speed against got us on our heels.

We are far better when we take the ball towards the rim hard rather than pull up. Make them feel us.

Also, shot selection needs some better decisions. Watch out for team mates more open rather than going at three defenders or pulling up rather than going at them.

We got caught with five in the paint too many times with no one rotating out to contest open 3s. Something that's a work in progress that we have to get right quick.

More FT work, more physicality, more smart switches and rotations, better decisions.

2ND Q: SPURS 62 KINGS 62

It's been a long time since we had a more consistent first half, even if we got mired a bit in two late Qs points against.

I like the resilience to push back after our lead dissipated, fight back to get the lead.

I like the response to get more physical and push for points in their paint. We lead 26-20 there, and the 5-6FTs to 2-3FTs edge makes up for their +9 from the arc.

Speaking of which, we did much better in rotating out to contest their 3s so the contested ones you tip your hat to, but we also upped the effort to get out at these shots after getting caught with five Spurs in the paint a few times.

Only 7TOs is also terrific for us.

Our shot selection stands out. Decisions to be assertive and take the shot are not the best options too often. We have to look for team mates that have been working to get open. We have to find Wemby on the alley oop chances. Our PGs have to get the O going and run something. We are doing a much better job pushing at the rim but still too much perimeter mucking.

Much better D overall, keeping them in front of us better, better help D. Better rebounding.

We have to make sure we're not caught up in playing their pace game - it rushes us. Get more physical. Protect the ball. Make better set up shots.
