We looked more comfortable as the Q progressed which is solid. SOLID D overall in man, team, help, switches, and contests. Keep it up!

Sochan at 4 and Wemby at 5 is awkward. Sochan drove like Wemby wasn't there with this sort of hybrid point-forward role. Looked much more comfortable next to Zach when subs came in. Sochan solid on D on several of their players.

We need to box out better. Pick up the pace and pressure.

Nice ball sharing (10 assists) and shot distribution (6-11 from 3, 7-8FTs).

Better team game and man responsibility.

We now have Dev, Branham, Julian, Sochan, Wemby in. Good communication and pointing and responding on D.

Don't love the Wemby fadeaway outside J rather than trying to be more patient and survey the court for team mates or make post-up moves into the paint. He is still moved from his space by stronger players, and experience in dealing with these types will come, but if he can't out muscle or out trick them, then pass is also an option. Good to great.

Sochan blocks DD post up turnaround J again. But they score on O board second chance. Now a 7-0 run against on ANOTHER Sochan step on baseline out. Poor POOR handles. And awareness there.

2ND Q: SPURS 63 BULLS 52

Guess who got two 30+ point Qs while holding the opponent to under 30 points in each? Us, that's who.

Much better engagement by all. Liking the effort to take in rhythm 3s but not over rely on them, and balancing these with drives at the rim.

We got caught several times with O players either back door cutting or beating us down the court behind our D so we MUST be AWARE and HUSTLE BACK.

Don't bite on pump fakes.

We have 6 blocks. Good rim protection. We can and should get at them more in their paint, too.

We have to box out better, at least be better aware of the space we are occupying and why on rebounds. Get a body on an open man. We have allowed 12-5 on O boards against. This needs to be better.

Sochan at the 4 next to Wemby is clunky. For some reason he does better next to Zach when it's really not all that different. I like that we are playing last season's starters more tonight. The reps and rhythms, such as we'd been able to get, make us look better.

We are very efficient tonight with 51.2% overall, 50% from 3 (11-22) and 10-12FTs. But our 7TOs contributed to our taking 41FGAs, 12 fewer against a team that is last in pace while we rank 4th.

To that above, there's a bit of feeling out versus this opponent as we are playing them for the first time, and but we have to impose our game more - pace from D to O transition.

We have 19 assists already with four Spurs in double figures, led by KJ's and Tre's efficient 12 points each. Branham is showing up scoring very well, in rhythm, finding his spots, probing and choosing well for drives and pretty finishes off the glass, middy Js off screens, 3s.

Dev and Wemby are struggling with efficiency, especially from 3 (combined 1-7 from the arc) so the more we drive and get them both points inside the better.

Our banch has 21 points already. Very solid.

We have to be more mindful of our spacing, keeping things simple, and relying on hustle and poise. Raise the energy level in the second half and keep it high.

Two poor decisions with the ball in a row by Wemby. First passes out of the post with a much smaller player on him, then takes a fadeaway J too far away.

Then Sochan gets a rebound and gets it poked out of his hands for a 3, on route to 9-0 run against.

Bad decisions with the ball, bad ball protection, low energy.

GET BACK TO PLAYING PHYSICAL SMART FASTER PACED BASKETBALL, SPURS!

Sit Sochan, park Wemby down low for dunks and putbacks.

That's about three or four times now in which Wemby has brought up the ball and held onto it too long so that team mates that rain out to the wings were already covered. Have to look up and assess faster and better and give up the ball sooner.

We are settling for 3s again, and not fighting for rebounds well enough.

Zach relies to much on height not nearly enough on positioning and boxing out for boards. And he has to do much more of the latter because he does not have the hops.
