Well we are 3-12 from 3. At this rate, we're on pace for 48 attempts from the arc. Put another way, our opponent who leads teh league in 3s attempts, attempted 11.

Sean pointed out a couple of times where we could and should have driven in the open lanes rather than heaving the 3 and this is the recognition and reaction we want to develop better. Don't be in a rush to diminish the deficit in fewer shots, especially if it costs us points the other way.

Better ball movement, though we need our bigs Wemby and Sochan to finish better at the rim. Still, Wemby leads us on 3-6. Sochan on the other hand is 0-4. Branham is 0-0. Dude, your starting minutes are calling. Julian 0-1. So we have at least two players who are not quality starter material. If they're not hustling hard, get in others who will.

Speaking of hustling, Devin started more aggressively. Good to see.

We need more physicality and better shot set ups, more at the rim, more FTs. Good overall effort so far.

Sochan has adjusted well on two drives, better finishes at the rim off glass.

Our guys occupying empty space, purposelessly in rebounds, not tracking opponents to at least cover them should the go for the ball is a clear area that needs improvement.

It was funny seeing Porzingis looking like an emo teen next to Wemby

I don't think we are playing any better defense, they are just missing bad shots. Then when things average out and they make a couple we are down 10

You can at least see what we are trying to run on O now. Better movement, more basic fundamental P&Rs, cuts, kick outs, better transition play. We're missing some open lanes to drive through and missing 3s but looks more cohesive.

Also, Sochan is a bit deliberate with the thing he's about to do next. He needs to get the cutter pass quicker but also more stealthily.

HEY! Sochan did NOT take the end of Q heave. He actually, wait for it, PASSED it and Branham hit an end of Q 3!

2ND Q: SPURS 53 CELTICS 65

Well it was a better Q from us, scoring 31 points but allowed 35. Not boxing out and giving up second chance points continues to be a big issue that bleeds points.

We're creating good chances (besides the two shot clock violations) but goodness are we missing in a variety of ways.

I like Sochan's adjustment at the rim and finishing better this Q. I like Branham's transition pushes and driving well. I liked Devin's assertiveness in the 1ST Q but in the 2ND he's only 1-4, all attempts outside the paint. We need more from him in terms of energy creating downhill effort.

Julian is still 0-1. This is our 3 point specialist. Maybe get him a shot or two. There's switching him in for Keldon because he doesn't need the ball in his hands, and then there's essentially playing 4 on 5 on O because he's basically a warm body. Good passing, though, so credit there. P&Rs and cutters got the ball.

Branham is only 2-3 but his speed has been a factor for us.

Blake has yet to score but his man D tenacity and better reads to find teammates looked good.

Cedi and Doug combining for 0-3 from 3 is rough.

Wemby leads us with 15 on 6-11, 3-5 from 3. Can't wait to see his game continue to grow once he gets his moves down pat and feels more comfortable against opponents.

Only 3TOs by us is solid.

We need to get to the FT line more - only 3-4 so far. Find the lanes, use them, get fouls. Keep up the energy and put together a stronger second half.

That 3 against was on Devin. He tried got behind the shooter too far and then just gave up getting back in the play to contest the shot. Bad.

Back to bad habits, including bad spacing and rushed passes and moves before the ball got to intended target for TOs.
