We have said that too many times this season...

Honestly it shouldn't have been close.... they were just better than us tonight.

terrible coaching job

Post#22 » by ceperez » Fri Jan 11, 2008 4:37 am

Duncan was the only one doing much and Pops takes him out early.

Finley couldn't buy a basket from anywhere, I don't understand why he's in the court!

Udoka was making his shots, don't know why he didn't come back in until the game was over. He should have played in replacement of Finley.

When Duncan finally came back in, barely any plays were made for him.

Terrible game. Terrible offense. Terrible coaching job.

Udoka definitely should have played more IMO..Manu should have played the point a little more, only for defensive reasons..Bowen on Billups and Udoka on Prince..Duncan on Sheed and Horry on Dice/Maxiell..that would have been a good lineup IMO..not perfect, but it could have been better matchups-wise..

TD is right, we've said that too many times so far..at some point we have to start playing better..if we keep struggling, we're gonna have to start playing playoff-type basketball to get back on track..meaning Duncan takes a lot of shots, and Parker/Manu get more aggressive..same with the D..

at least we know we have the talent to play better..we have the best post player in the NBA..2 great scorers/creators..Barry, Finley(sometimes), Bonner, Udoka, Bowen, Horry are good shooters..we have defenders..a great coach..

it's strange to say for our team, since we're probably the smartest team in the NBA on the court..but better decisions are necessary..even from Pop..Parker and Ginobili need to cut down on some of the bad shots they take when they are missing..Finley NEEDS to stop shooting so many shots that he used to shoot in his prime..he's still a great set shooter, but he isn't so good off the dribble..Matt Bonner needs to get into the flow of the game, instead of jacking up shots..Duncan needs to change his style up sometimes against different opponents, and he NEEDS to be more aggressive and a little more selfish when the team is struggling..

most importantly, defensive adjustments..better D on the perimeter, and better rotations..

does anyone else think Oberto looks like he's regressed a little from last year?..

The turnovers :o the shooting... It's clear that SA needs ALL of its players and roleplayers. Maybe that is a weakness for the spurs?

What's wrong with this picture:

Udoka time 6:41 2:2 6 pts

Finley time 34:24 3:9 7 pts

For crying out loud, give the more efficient player some game time!!

During the game Collins was question why Stuckey wasn't playing and why Hunter was. Stuckey being the future should get exposure.

Not for the Spurs, its the same question, who are we grooming to take over? Have they all been cut in our d-league call ups? If some of those players had the game time Finley gets, they would definitely do better. Take Demarr Johnson, who scored a quick 8 points in just a couple of minutes of play the other day.

Another expected loss, no big deal. I'm looking forward to our next two games to turn things around and get some momentum going vs Wolves and 76ers. We need to bust out of this funk soon.

I never expect to lose when our top 3 are healthy and playing.

Are they healthy though? I don't think so, Parker and Manu are clearly playing at 60-70% right now. Both are driving as hard and settlng for jumpers, it seems they both are weary of getting hurt again so soon. We'll see how we go after the ASG. That's the real barometer.

Late post...

Well, definitely disappointing, but not alarming.
