good comeback mini push to end the Q from deficit to lead again.

Didn't like Sochan's end to end 3 heave without looking at anyone else. Have to see who's open sooner.

But open shot, too, so...

Wemby is making uncharacteristically soft, unfocused plays with some TOs and too many outside shots.

Some good passes too though.

We must Push at them hard in the paint. Hard smart contests like our guys draped on them on their final possession. Really nice.

Play hard and smart and physical.

Seriously, the lack of awareness to protect the basketball is just silly.

And again I'll say our offense is soo non cohesive. Its like most of the time we have 5 different guys doing 5 different things, all solo hero-like. Almost every shot we take is a contested, difficult shot. It looks like an AAU game.

The only time we look like we play defense at all is when we play a zone but even that sucks because no one knows how to rotate properly.

4TH Q: SPURS 113 HEAT 118

THE GOOD: Lots of 3s made, winning 19-12 from the arc.

Won rebound battle 50-41.

35 assists.

We fought back well after giving up the lead and getting it back.

THE BAD: We had a 19-point lead and allowed a 17-0 run.

We were only 10-12FTs.

17TOs which cost us THIRTY-THREE points.

THE UGLY: We got the lead back with assertive plays inside. Then we went away from it and settled for outside shots. Dan just said we had our first 8 points of the 4TH in the paint, then had only 4 PITP after that. To be honest, that's even worse than I thought. OOF.

This was an offshoot of:

Way TOO MUCH horizontal play. Way too much picking up dribble early. Way too much dribbling before passing ahead or to the open man. Almost no penetration from the back court whatsoever.

The 35 assists were slightly deceiving in that there were a lot of missed chances in terms getting the ball to the right guy QUICKLY.

Late game schemes against - we got out muscled, and since they had a lot of fouls to use, they did to make sure they stopped the clock and didn't give up 3s. We faced a team on the second game of a travel back to back. Making them run (Pop kept telling us to push the ball more), getting physical into them inside were the right schemes we went away from.

We put them to the FT line 28-30. Tried and true method of teams down getting back - stops clock, gets rest, mucks up rhythm. We got grounded down. We fouled too much, we got confused on rotations, and allowed too many open shots.

We gave up three 30+ points Qs, the last, the highest against.

We gave up a run late in the Q and made a collection of mistakes at the same time.

Lots of film moments like Sochan's end of Q heave when he had an open team mate on the right wing. Devin dribbling the air out of the ball only to take a contested 3 with 5 seconds left. Too few alley oop lobs to Wemby.

Crazy that Wemby had a bad game but still had 18-11 and 7 assists, many of the seeing eye ball kind. One steal. One block. But he also had 7TOs, sloppy passes, one handed, body out of balance too much.

Wemby and Dev combined for 0 FT attempts. Can't have that from our top two players

KJ 18-12-6. Good all around game, with some bad barrelling habits, too many 3s.

Sochan was most efficient, provided great D. 16-5-3, 2 blocks, 3TOs.

Six Spurs in double figures which is good and that we distributed well when some were inefficient ie/ Wemby, KJ, Devin.

Branham with Tre-like 7 assists from the bench is terrific.

Pop ran a tight mostly eight man rotation with Bassey providing 6 minutes.

I liked our rotations, liked our better switches and contests, and gang rebounding. Liked our compete level.

Forty-eight minutes of more consistent play, of finding better looks sooner, of more verticality, of more physicality.

When we get back at it, bring these along.
