See Tre on perimeter on Ingram ain't it...

And also this escalated quickly. We need to get more physical. And make some buckets. Inside.

Like Keldon just now.

1ST Q: SPURS 20 PELICANS 33

Saving grace so far - it could have been worse. We are simply missing shots. It's also a function of shot selection and creation variety. We are 1-10 from 3, and given we've taken 21FGAs, we are over-relying on the arc shot. Can't triple down on what's not working. Keldon finally got to driving late in the Q to good effect.

On the other end, we are leaving them wayyy to open at the arc, where they are a too good 7-14. They are shooting over 50% overall, too, whereas we are 7-21, largely from the 3s misses.

Get in transition, get more physical, get to the FT line more, where we are a healthy 5-6FTs with two fouls on their starting C already.

More tenacity and focus and fundamentals.

When Wemby spins into the paint from a post up he keeps the ball far too low and it gets picked off or deflected too often. Use that natural height advantage and keep the ball UP.

Two drives in a row by Doug and Keldon.

But another 3 the other way. GUARD THE ARC, SPURS!

Keldon drive. Nice. We need to get whistles.

Good job, Branham! Steal and dunk.

EDIT: Check that. Wemby got the deflection that Branham picked up and finished.

Bad off-balance Keldon pass, Zach out of position to receive it. TO. Right idea, wrong fundamentals, angles, positioning.

Just the Spurs. It comes with NBA TV so they have a few games also. Plus I can watch all Piston games locally.[not on LP] Thats enough bad basketball for me to handle right there.....

Good help D by Zach. Foul, but still got the block, prevented a dunk.

We are again 5 on 4, we trot the ball down the court, get the ball into a congested paint, pass out but to Tre in the corner for a 3 miss.

**** CREATE INSIDE FROM PUSHING THE BALL QUICKER!

He needs to get used to doing what he did last year. That PG thing has just destroyed his confidence in how he plays.

Well he's been excellent on D since going back to the PF role, and has less duties so he said he can focus more on the D end. So what does lack of lift have to do with confidence? It's a physical thing. Even on dunks in transition he's much much lower. Really stands out.

I don't see the lift thing you are talking about. What I see is the tentative play on that end by him. He is unsure of what to do, no confidence at all. Thats why he gets his sh** blocked all the time IMO. Plus he shouldn't be taking half those shots and getting himself into that position.
He's not cutting and catching passes to put himself into no mans land. He is still dribbling himself into it.

We run the same thing but quicker, ball to trailer in the paint and pass out to the other side, this time it's Cedi and we make the left corner 3. Right idea, better personnel and execution for the play.

Ok I see what you're saying about the residual effects from the PG experiment thing.

As to the lift, I did a comparison of that huge dunk on Sabonis last season to a transition dunk with no one on him and to others this season (recent ones where he's PF again, though could have chosen any this season) and it's like his thighs just don't have the same spring, even two-footed ones.

Hope you're right and I'm seeing just tentativeness not a physical thing, though the one could spring from the other.

Devin, mate, We DO NOT NEED ANOTHER 3 IN THAT SITUATION. Operation pass to Wemby down low late in the Q in effect.

It could be a little of both. With the PG experiment he maybe hasn't worked the legs much lately. But like you mentioned, he seems to be ok defensively.
