Knicks at Spurs 1/4/08

Post#1 » by Ballings7 » Fri Jan 4, 2008 9:10 am

I can see the Knicks getting up for this and making it competitive, especially after losing to Sac badly at MSG with no Bibby/Martin/Artest - but I'm going to say it'll be a pretty easy game for us.

Spurs win by 8-10 pts

I feel bad for good ol' Malik Rose, basketball-wise. Not playing much, still a capable role-player, and in a really iffy situation. I hope he gets out of there soon.

Is Manu gonna play tonight? I heard that he went through full practice with a protective splint. Any chance Pops will let him play?

No way we lose this game. We just lost to Denver. it's Home. It's the knicks. The knicks have been so bad, i don't think anyone in the Spurs team will take the game lightly and risk getting beat and become a laughing stock. However, a knicks win for NY can be a turning point for the season.

6 point game early in the 4th. Up for grabs with Crawford heating up for the Knicks and the Spurs struggling offensively again.

No surprise for me.

Before I forget, anyone else like the way DJohn looked in the 1st half when he went on that 8 point spurt?

Fun win! Good game, too.

I really enjoyed our defense later in the 4th qtr. Especially cooled off Crawford. Bowen with that strip at the end was fantastic. Mike Breen was ridiculous with his overreacting that Crawford got fouled too, when with the situation, it's just not even legitimate to point it out as much as Breen was. I was like "wow, calm down man".

Finley hitting that three was so great, he's just been playing good basketball recently.

As it went, but we closed it out with the win in the end. Impressive effort from New York, though.

I missed that, I'll have to check it out on the tape.

I was really impressed even though he took a lot of 3's. I hope Pop gives him more minutes.

DJ was a bright spot. How did he look defensively?

On another note: WTF is wrong with Oberto? is he completely dependant on Manu or something, because he's been a totally different player in Manu's absense.

Duncan's been a totally different player. Inconsistent.

I think if Manu weren't even on the team at some point, everybody would have to adjust. Thankfully the adjusting period is temporary and short.

The Spurs aren't the Spurs right now. After watching last nights game we look very out of rhythm. Duncan is very hesistant in the post and sloppy with the ball, Parker is settling for jumpers when he usually is fearless driving to the hole, Oberto is looking like a D league reject, Bowen is a step too slow although i'll give him props for his shooting which has helped us bigtime. Also i'll give props to Red Rocket and Finley who played a blinder last night. Obviously TD and Parker haven't fully recovered from their injuries and it's blatabtly obviously they're struggling without having Manu and Barry out there to spread the floor alot more. I'm sure once we get Manu and barry back and let them heal up more we should be fine.
