Kevin Durant thread

I just wanna say that I feel bad for you Sonics fans for getting your team taken away like that in 2008.You didn't deserve it and I hope the Sonics will return someday like the Hornets in Charlotte. Its too bad the team couldn't have great success in the 2000's compared to the 90's Sonics.I wish Seattle was still around because the team would have some great success right now like the Thunder do now in Oklahoma City.Kevin Durant was supposed to be your next franchise player.Man! imagine KD & Russell Westbrook right now repping for Seattle in Sonics green and gold with James Harden(before traded to Houston),Serge Ibaka,Thabo Sefolosha,Jeremy Lamb,Nick Collison etc the greatness would of return and Durant & Westbrook probably would of been the modern day Shawn Kemp & Gary Payton right now.How well do you think the Sonics will do had they not moved?

They would've done probably about the same as they did in OKC. Had Westbrook/Durant in place when they moved and the same front office.

I don't hold any hope for a franchise returning any time soon. By the time Durant hits free agency he'll be locked in with someone else. The hope of expansion doesn't seem realistic as the NBA had a ton of teams that are completely irrelevant and either cannot or don't field a compete product. Watering the talent level down even further seems like a poor idea for a league that doesn't seem all that healthy to me.

As much as I'd like to see the Sonics come back, the NBA should be ashamed of the crap they expect people to pay to watch.

Anyone still here?

Someone brought attention to this place at my new stomping grounds (SonicsRising). Miss you all :D

Find me on Twitter as well @smashmode.

I think most of us are tied together on Facebook, although we did that when we had no idea where this board was going.

Still fighting the good fight up in the Seattle area. :)

I'm Here!

Check this site daily as well as the SonicsRising for information purposes only

Don't like the SonicsRising site because it's not user friendly. (stifles debate because the drop down comment style system is too hard to follow with all the highlighted comments)

Looking forward to the conversation once the SUPER SONICS Return...

Miss You All

This forum is here to stay until Seattle gets The Sonics back which will eventually happen via expansion or relocation.

I miss those west coast road trips and watching The Orlando Magic play in all the green of Seattle's Arena.

I've never left. A Real GM member since 2001. I read in the local news here in Vancouver yesterday about two competing bids for a new arena, with the NHL likely getting in before the NBA even though one agreement with the city states there must be an NBA team before committing funding to the arena. It said it expires soon and will likely be rewritten.

So I see a new arena on the horizon, but unless there's something out of the ordinary it looks like it's hockey in before basketball. But I'm patient and believe the NBA returns at some point.

If my Milwaukee Bucks move out here, I'll be waiting. Would hate to see them leave my hometown, but coming here to Seattle would be a nice fallback.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry just yet. We've been down this road before.

Well...forget about the Buck's moving. Just like we all suspected, they got an arena deal done.
