I'm sorry guys, I'm out.

It's been a pleasure..game thread after game thread, good times and bad. To the darkest day in Seattle's history, I'm just sorry guys.

This really **** sucks. Hopefully somebody steps up and brings a new franchise to your city and restores the Sonics name.

He's been dealt with, so...no point in having anyone respond to his other messages.

David Stern is a true ass to allow this to happen. Hopefully you guys get a team within the next 5 years(realistically)..

How the hell can Seattle not have a pro basketball team?? That doesn't even sound right.

Blazer fan here, I am so sorry to hear about this, this is definitley a tragic day. I can't even think how you Sonic fans feel, probably like your hearts have been ripped out of you guys, but I am truley sorry to hear about your loss. I will miss the I-5 rivalry, and now it makes it harder for me to want to cheer for the Sonics (as well as Durant and Westbrook with them in that lesser city) when they are not playing the Blazers. I hope the best for all of you and once again I am sorry.

I'm a Bobcats fan, not a Sonics fan, and I'm still incredibly bitter about this

I would imagine since the lease is being bought out and the move has already been approved for this season, then it would happen this year. There's no way anyone would agree to leave the team here for this year because it would be extremely ugly.

At least the 'Sonics' name will stay in Seattle and OKC will have to have a new team name.

A faint glimmer of hope. Schultz's suit still goes forward, and if he wins, the city has it in writing that a renovated Key Arena is a viable NBA venue. Motion for a restraining order tomorrow I'm sure.

So long, Sonics. Hopefully when the state ponies up the money to fix the Key (both gubenatorial candidates have promised the state will do their part) they'll also fix Mercer so you can actually drive to games in a reasonable manner, too. Might help the attendance when Seattle gets another team in a few years.

This is all bull. Could we get a team in the next 5 YEARS perhaps. The problem is the NBA has already said no more expansion in North America. Stern wants a bunch of teams in europe and he wont delude the NBA with North American expansion.

Right now we need to steal another team from another city. The only team I can see that has a decent shot at moving is Memphis. Some would say NO but with the lease they have and with the excitement Chris Paul has started in that city I don't see them going anywhere. Memphis could go as long as OJ Mayo turns out to be a bust. Outside of that we are screwed. David Stern is going to have to show us that North American expansion is likely in the next 5 years.

Yea, it rests on Schultz's lawsuit now. I guess we get to see how serious he is about his lawsuit and if he's willing to spend the resources necessary. It's a hail mary, but....well, we don't really have anything else to hang our hats on. I can't believe Nickels sold us out. What a sellout.
