Is anyone else listening to KJR right now, they talked about some OKC writter had a article today saying that there might be a settlement coming today. Now I guess both the Mayor and PBC are both having news conferences at 5pm. Theyre saying that they could be negotiating a deal.... I really hope thats not the case.

Times is reporting possible settlement. Quoting Jean Gooden.

Rumors about Ballmer and NBA being involved in this is also being reported.

What does this mean? Did the city get cold feet because issues came out that didn't appear all that favorable to them? Did the PBC get cold feet because they felt they were about to lose? Or a mix of the two?

I usually didn't settle a case in the middle of trial unless I entered court confident of a victory and then in the middle of trial knew I was taking it in the shorts because something didn't go as planned (such as an officer screwing up a BAC test). This makes me uneasy...

I am hearing reports of a settlement on KJR now..Brian Robinson is also discussing the fact that the Mayor has been very adamant about not settling unless a promise for a new NBA team is made.

I think it is pretty gutless to accept an offer now. Brian is also saying that he was called by the Mayor this morning and is only saying that they told him it was urgent.

Ugh...settlement in the works. They better not settle for cash only. I think I'll kill myself if that happens.

A cash settlement is going to be terrible!

Maybe the settlement is contingent on Schultz losing?

Why would they settle based on that? Seems kind of pointless for the city.

Yeah, I'm pretty much sitting my office, repeatedly hitting "F5", and listening to the sound of my own stomach juices churning like butter. This sucks.

There needs to be a team coming back to Seattle.

If it is only a cash settlement, Nickels has done us worse than Bennett. Nickels has lied to the people.

I just don't get why the city isn't going to wait to listen to the judge's decision. What was the point of going to court? What a waste of tax payers money and time going through this whole thing.

This is the slowest day ever...waiting until 4pm was tough enough..now we have to wait until the 5:00 press conference?

The posters over at Sonics Central are going crazy right now. I don't have a radio so if someone has been listening to KJR when Brian Robinson of SOS was on they can elaborate. Apparently the rumor going around is that the city got a big cash settlement, and no promise for a team. Take it for what its worth, but if that is the case, I will go absolutely ape-s***.

Thats what they were saying, and that the new team was a "wink" "wink" deal or something

^Brian didn't know what was included in the settlement..

If you read one of my previous posts in the thread, I said that he was called by the Mayor and they told him to come at 4pm and that it was urgent. That's all he knew or said.

I feel like breaking things right now...this is not fair having to wait.

All signs point to the Sonics moving for next season and i feel bad for you fans. It sounds like the City MIGHT have sold the fans out so they could take the money and run. If Seattle is promised a new franchise down the line i cannot seeing it being for 3 to 5 years minimum. Since i live in Oregon i do not know all the details of this but why did it seem to take the fans so long to get upset. I am sad to see the Blazer - Sonic I-5 rivalry go bye bye.

There is plenty of blame to go around to Shultz to Bennett to Stern who i think let his "friend" get away with some questionable business at best. Also i know i might get ripped by saying this but i hinted at it above maybe the fans and the citizens of Seattle and Washington state need to take a little blame. However i will say i do not know ALL the details so if i am wrong i am sorry.

Bottomline is Seattle got screwed and but more the fans got screwed even worse. I really hope Stern removes his head out of Clay's arse and makes an announcement that Seattle will have a new team in the next 5 or so years.

Goodluck to you Sonic Fans and keep your head up. Do not give up and make sure the people of Washington and Seattle keep on David Stern (Clay's Arse Kisser) for a new team.
