City High - Seattle

If you check out ESPN.com they have a new little section about the top cities of the past decade for prep school hoops. "Top 8 hoops hotbeds of the past decade". Seattle was one of the 8. Here is their list for the "all Seattle" team:

G - Martell Webster (Seattle Prep, 2005)
G - Jamal Crawford (Rainier Beach, 1998)
F - Brandon Roy (Garfield, 2002)
F - Marvin Williams (Bremerton, 2004)
C - Spencer Hawes (Seattle Prep, 2006)
6th Man - Nate Robinson (Rainier Beach, 2002)

Gonzaga Prep in Spokane. I want to say Brandon, because I am biased, but unfortunately, I don't think he can get to Stockton's level of play. Unless he can find a way to start getting 10 apg

I knew that he went to Gonzaga Prep. I believe that article was talking about Seattle as being the NBA hotbed, not the entire PNW. Without much doubt if we were talking about the entire state of Washington, or all of the PNW then John Stockton would be the best.

Your right, he didn't go to HS in Seattle, but in Spokane. He was still damn good though!

Terrible list, how was Indianapolis not included?

PG- Mike Conley
SG- Stanley Burrell
SF- Eric Gordon
PF- Josh McRoberts
C- Greg Oden

I would take that team over New Yorks or Phillys anyday.

I just for the first time looked at all of the teams. Seattle might have the best team on that list. Pretty impressive for a city that doesn't even have an NBA team.

With due respect, I don't think that group comes close to making the list. You listed three very talented players and two non-impact players. Moreover, the article says: "Each selection takes into account a player's entire career, from high school to the pros." Based on that, I can't see how Indianapolis can be considered, since the players listed have accomplished just about nothing in the pros. Maybe after Oden becomes a superstar and Conley and Gordon become quality players, we can talk about including Indianapolis. But not today. (But hey, you've always got Eric Montross.)

Of the cities listed, if they all formed teams and had a tournament today, I think Seattle would be competitive, but my money would be on Chicago.
