Toronto Freeze - why not? There are too many heat-related WNBA team names (Indiana Fever, Connecticut Sun, Phoenix Mercury, LA Sparks)...this swings the other way.

I would bet two dollars Valkyries going to go to Golden State.

The GS team name has been chosen but not revealed yet but seems there is momentum around GS fans for Valkyries ! I guess we will know soon enough if that name needs to be scratched .

While the Raptors might have honoured the team in the past, the Huskies are completely irrelevant to the Raptors and their fans. They played one season back in 1946. That was almost 80 years ago. There's probably very few people even alive to remember that team. I think the only reason the Raptors honoured them was because they were testing the waters for a possible rebrand, and the Huskies as a brand seemed somewhat respectable, but the "We the North" area Raptors put a halt to that, and the championship win the final nail in the rebrand coffin.

I find the names of wnba teams very interesting. A lot of weather, a lot of abstract concepts and a lot of non-countable nouns.

Alliteration is always good with sports teams so with all of this, I'm going with Toronto Tempest
