Hes going to make all euro in Bratislava some day

Seriously. Edey is from a bygone era.

I cant see him being any better than Boban Marjanović.

I don't know. Did you see his agility run and threes at the combine? He was impressive.

I think you might be the one from the bygone era. This is caveman type thinking.

I say let Trent and Bruce Brown walk and sign Mac McClung for the minimum as a backup SG/PG.

I fear the traditional C is gone forever. It appears the new C can switch and guard in space and can block shots, rim run and, hopefully, hit an occasional 3.

Yves Missi and Kel’el Ware look pretty spot on, Alex Sarr of course. Edey looked pretty nimble at the combine though! 3 point shot came too. Something else. He keeps getting better.

Jean Montero is playing in Spain which is likely the highest league outside the NBA. Kid is only 20 and averages:
15.7 ppg / 5.1ast / 2.0stl
58% TS

Dropped 35 recently. As a back-up PG he is interesting and probably better than anything we could draft at 31 and of course more likely to play in the rotation from day one.

Can anyone explain what trade rules are in place during draft related to expiring contracts. For ex. is Gordon Hayward's contract already expired and untradeable or it can be used to match incoming contracts?

Can’t trade expiring/expired contracts at draft

The switching style has its weaknesses just like any other system. Its just depends on what the coach is comfortable conceding and the capabilities of the defense.

Yeah went undrafted I believe. Should've went to college, but looks like he's waiting for an NBA deal

Well I am in diamond in rough mode. At 19 we can only hope and or pray Carrington or Collier are there. Collier is the most unlikely but Devin Carter might well drop this far. At 31 and undrafted signing it should be project bigs like Ware, Chomche and PJ Hall.

How do people feel with adding Carrington, Chomche and PJ Hall? That's very doable.very 905 oriented.

5 year $205ish (ant Edwards, Tyrese haliburton signed 25% of cap)

But I expect closer to 5 year $130ish (what 2nd tier rookies signed last year Jayden McDaniel, Devin vessel)

Personally I like Carrington more than Carter (his single year of decent shooting percentages concerns me a little bit) and I think Bub is just a more talented player that can just get his own bucket which the team still needs & makes for an upgrade over Gary long term. I'm just not sure his level of PG skills is the problem because due to having RJ & Dick, both guys should really be playing SG but either of them is occassionally forced to play SF because we flat out don't have one. I just think Bub's floor is higher that at worst he should be a good 6th man type who may be molded into one of the better non superstar SGs and if he becomes a better facilitator then you might have a big time steal. Carter for me SHOULD be an absolute rock solid role player that every team loves BUT what if his shooting reverts to his first 2 years (UNDER 30% from 3) like it did with Davion Mitchell (who this board loved too). Then of course he'd be a bit of bust & just another guy. I just like Bub's floor & ceiling more personally.

I've been with picking Chomche at 31 for a long time now (IF he does fall that far, I don't rule out someone taking a flyer on him). You might have a young Serge Ibaka (but slightly taller so better suited as a C than SI was) on your hands which of course would be a huge steal in the 2nd rd. But I'd prefer one of Flowers or Tyson over Hall.

Does anyone know yet what direction we're going in for next season? Seems like, with Barrett, IQ, and Scottie, we're too decent to all out tank right? So would we be aiming to hit the play in?

Absolutely disgusting suggestion

It's about looking at the bigger picture and the opportunity costs.

We have the opportunity to move a couple vet pieces (Jakob & Bruce) for 2024 draft picks (2025 if someone is crazy enough to do it) and proceed to soft tank for 2025 when franchise altering prospects could be there.

With additional picks I'm not looking for all-stars, I'm looking for players who project to be high-end starters or valuable bench pieces on a good team. We have to restock the cupboards with talent. Gotta hit some singles and doubles.

I agree that Jakob for the 12th pick in a vacuum is not a good trade, but there's a lot more context behind why you do it.

1) you add some young talent to the roster to develop
2) you lose more games in turn setting you up for higher end prospects in 2025
3) you increase your cap flexibility moving forward
4) Jakob has already said he does not want to be apart of a rebuilding team. Not saying he will become a locker room issue however why put him through a rebuild if you don't have to

Do you think the Raptors would let him walk away if he got that from another team? Or would they match?

A C like Poeltl is essential to the development of the rest of the team, starting with IQ. That development is WAY more important than whatever bench player the 12th pick in this draft will provide. There are no Bam Adebyo's available.

Poeltl WILL be traded at some point before the deadline, but he will bring back multiple picks. If OKC wants to give us #12 plus Miami's unprotected 2025 pick, then we can talk.
