Maritimer wrote:Actually, now that you've done that, I'd say he didn't. In the first two his shadow is to the left the hashmark, in the third it's to the right.

Yeah I think that is due to a few things:

What Fairview said: "But his body is about the same location relatively when you look at the vertical backboard shadow/reflection."

What Maritimer said: "The camera's angle is different, hence the shadow's moved position. It's also zoomed, as you can see when Joey is talking to the camera."

and also that he in the first two dunks he is dunking from the right said heading to the left side.
In the 3rd dunk, he is dunking straight on.

The main aspect of the shadow that needs to be looked at is it's relative location from the backboard, I think.

Joey's IQ is that of a chimpanzee's, you really think he can adjust the camera angle to create an illusion effect? Do you really?

Here I've taken the pictures of the second and third dunk that ICEMANRC posted and flipped them upside down and put them together. You can see that when he does the third dunk from behind the freethrow line, he doesn't reach the same spot as the second dunk.

Joey did it on purpose... as for Moon, I'm pretty sure he'll do a Jordan Dunk like from the line or close.

Would he be exactly vertical doing a dunk from FT line and beyond? He has long arms he would be stretched out and on a angle...The other dunks were close and therefore his body was closer to the rim.

lol some people think it's a camera effect and the camera angle to make it look like he completed the dunk.

He didn't reach the rim. Watch again once Joey turns the camera, u can make out the reflection of the backboard and the rim on the left, and watch the reflection of Jamario all the way through his last dunk. You can see him clearly come up about a foot short.

I honestly think he made it.
If he can't dunk from that far, it will be an automatic loss for him. The public won't take very well to hyping up a dunk like that and not being able to complete it.

That and in the NBA.com interview, he said he dunked it there, and just didn't show it because he didn't want anyone to see his dunks.

I dunno if he made it or not.

But the angle of the reflection is entirely different on the final dunk, so comparing to it the first 2 dunk angles are pointless.

Remember the first 2 dunks he attack from the elbow wing basically while the final dunk is dead on straight.... again another deviation with the angle

Also a windmill and a 360 dunk are completely different dunks then a FT line dunk. In the 1st 2 dunks, ur entirely body is at the rim, while in a FT dunk, ur arm is completely stretched out, and its not inconcevaible to think that his body is a good 2-3 feet from the rim at the point of contact... yet another deviation... and easily the most significant.

Youtube vids aside, lets see who brings it in the contest.

With the Chris Bosh and Moon Vids, I fully expect to see a Kapono & Parker Contest from Midcourt.

hes gonna jump from the ft line put it under his legs then stick his arm in the net

If he did that, the momentum would rip his arm right off lol. It would be the saddest end to a dunk competition ever. I can see the headlines now "Moon becomes amputee after sick dunk"

Enjoyed the video.

Looks like the NBA is really pushing the dunk contest this year. You would think with this much hype they would of invited six players at least.

When Jordan and Pippen do the dunk, the lean forward to stretch out. With Jamario's length it's possible he made it.

Totally agree with that!

If he made it that would be crazy!! At least a foot further back of my man MJ!!
