A whole lotta people are hitting mozilla.com right now because today is 'download day' for firefox 3...so their site has been down a lot. That's probably why the links aren't working. Best bet is to try tomorrow I guess because they are tryna keep a world record with the most downloads in a 24 hour span ( that span ends tomorrow at 1 PM ET)

My script for this is very similar in effect:
http://userstyles.org/styles/8033

It hides a lot of the user profile stuff on the left unless you mouse over it. This lets me crank down the left side of the post (where the avy and username are) to be small without it ending up very tall from the location text, PM button, etc. But you can still get to that stuff by mousing over it - then it pops up.

You can use the script with Opera, but if you're forced to use Microsoft IE, you're out of luck

Nice, I like. It actually combines well with my minimalist/maximized viewing area script - people can install both without any problems.

Thanks to both of you guys.

I changed the thread background to the old light gray and changed the font to Verdana. Much better...much much better now.

This works great. I love it except for one thing:

When I am on the RealGm homepage I don't seem to have that bar of links that includes one to "forums". It's there when I take the script off.

I don't think the missing Forums link is from my script - I see it fine.

But the missing wiretap is definitely an effect of my script, by design. I'll look into bringing the wiretap back but without the slideshow, but it may not be possible without going to a full greasemonkey script.

I just added the Forums link and made wiretap appear when mousing over the top bar under the main toolbar.

Edit: this one won't work with floppymoose's or my original script since they make wiretap disappear completely

Almost. I stole a few lines from floppy's (to hide the poster profile) so that I could have the best of both worlds.

One thing I would like to add back into Aces' but don't know how - I liked the slightly different shades of colors from post to post. Helps break things up a bit. Can anyone explain how to do that?

to do that and make the alternating colours match the previous style's colours replace the following code in AcesFull's script:

Code: Select all

*[class*="post bg1"],
*[class*="post bg2"],
*[class*="row bg1"],
*[class*="row bg2"] { background-color: #F4F3EE ! important}

with this code:

Code: Select all

*[class*="post bg1"]{ background-color: #EFEDE4 ! important}
*[class*="post bg2"]{ background-color: #F4F3EE ! important}
*[class*="row bg1"]{ background-color: #F4F3EE ! important}
*[class*="row bg2"] { background-color: #F4F3EE ! important}

Wow I LOVE the expanded, streamlined version of the site.

So much better, so much less distracting and so much more usable.

BTW - do you do this for a living?

For some reason that doesn't work for me. It's still gray. I really liked the alternating colors as well :(

Edit :nvm, it's just very subtle. I guess that's fine.

Thx to the guys who made the scripts. Beautiful.

:clap: to the script monkeys for giving back to the community. :)

I like my screenspace to be used efficiently, so I appreciate the effort. Especially on a widescreen laptop. :nod:
