Funny reading the “losing FVV is addition by subtraction” posts.

FVV/OG/Barnes/Siakam/Poeltl: +9.5 net rating over 313 minutes

Schroder/OG/Barnes/Siakam/Poeltl: -0.9 net rating over 366 minutes

Maybe Schroder wasn’t able to fill the gap after all.

It has to do more with being a poor fit rather than how much better FVV is than Scroder.

Dennis Schroder Career: 3.0 VORP, -1.4 Box +/-, 29.1 Win Shares, 53.1% True Shooting, 105 ORtg, 112 Drtg
Fred VanVleet Career: 17.1 VORP, +2.5 Box +/-, 40.4 Win Shares, 54.7% True Shooting, 116 ORtg, 111 Drtg

No, it really is that Fred is a much better player than Dennis. He even beats him comfortably in total Win Shares and VORP in spite of the fact that Dennis has played 1/3rd more minutes for his career.

That **** was just pure copium and apologizing for the front office losing an asset for nothing. It was straight up embarrassing thinking Schroeder was a difference maker.

Where is the other prediction we had before the season started? I remember some bum argued with me when I said we were a 35-win team. Someone dig it up.

Losing FVV was all about taking 1 step back to take 2 steps forwards.

Schroder was only a stop gap and is much easier to get rid of.

FVV has obvious value, but limits your ceiling if he's even your 3rd best player, and is much harder to move.

The addition by subtraction (to me at least) was always about development, FVV is obviously a better player than Dennis, but that's not saying much.

The people who said that FVV walking for nothing was a win because it allowed us to sign Dennis and McDaniels though, they are nowhere to be found lmao

For the FVV haters that was just propaganda to rally support to run him out of town.

Getting rid of FVV was the right move. Some people were arguing that we'd be better without him, though, which was comical.

And it was still over unless they all of the last 3 games are wins.

Yeah that's nuts. I just sifted through the first six pages and it was he and another guy predicting 28 wins.

I bet he even predicted season ending injuries to Poeltl and Barnes and trading Siakam and OG to get there.

Anyone jerking about their past prediction in this thread is nothing more than a blind squirrel finding a nut, with everything else that happened this year.

Johnny Bball always seems so damn miserable loll.

Kind of related, Fred actually mentioned that he realized the amount of hate he was getting on social media and that he saw the writing on the wall.

I wasn't a fan of the way Fred talked and played the last season but Masai not getting a reliable backup PG put far too much pressure on him to perform at all times. He was overly used and took a lot of heat as a result.

When we complain, we truly think we're attempting to call out areas that can make a team/franchise we care about better. It doesn't come out of misery in any way, well except when we're watching a total crap product lol.

Some of us just have higher standards and opening discussion on how to improve. Doesn't always mean we're right but definitely doesn't mean we're always wrong lol.
