Precious was used wrong in Toronto. Defensively he was fine. I just hated watching him try to score.

We were sold fool's gold in his first year. Him hitting 36% from 3 gave us such high hopes that we allowed him to try and score for the next 2 seasons, except he completely lost his touch and took the worst shots/forced shots. Being forced back into a defensive first role in NY has helped him be smarter about shot selection.

His defense was fine here as well. Thibs doesn't seem to trust him in the POs though and even when he plays him, limits him offensively. He's played in 3 of their 7 games, averaging 11 mpg, 2.3 FGA on 28%, 0 3 pointers attempted and .66 turnovers a game.

The writing was on the wall the moment they brought Darko and his system in. If you can't read and react, move the ball, and make quick decisions, you have no role in this offense. We can't play him how Thibs will play him.

I think that's the point. Get Precious to buy into being a defensive specialist and strictly a play finisher. I'm not sure if it was Nick Nurse or the front office that encouraged him to handle the ball, try and take 4 defenders off the dribble and shoot 3s. If he would commit to being a Ben Wallace or Rudy Gobert type that would just defend...he'd still be a Raptor and we wouldn't have hated the Precious experience while in Toronto.

I don't think that archetype can exist in Darko's offense. I just don't see any scenario in which Precious would have worked here once we committed to Darko.

Regarding Nurse, there was a PatBev clip where he was recounting a conversation with Kawhi in which Kawhi apparently said: "How you like Nick Nurse's offense? He lets you do whatever you want, right?" That pretty much sums it up.

EDIT: Here it is...

Credit to Pascal, heading back to the ECF and making a big impact as a playoff vet on the Pacers.

Here's hoping he does Raps fans a solid and beats Boston.

DeMar on his thoughts following his trade to the Spurs.

Can’t believe people trash this guy.

I like Demar and felt sad for him getting traded. But it feels like he has told this story a number of times now.

I like Demar as a person but something had to be done, that team hit its ceiling
Masai and Bobby did great on that trade. Had Kawhy pulled a "He stay", we would have won another championship in the bubble.

Demar needs to understand it's a business. Masai and Bobby got the result, they had to make that trade.
