the irony of him posting that to you after his own post is gold, jerry, gold!

Yeah let's just pretend that the Raptors didn't have NINE possible picks they could've landed at: 1-4, 6, or conveying 7-10.

Let’s also pretend that by predicting the Raptors were going to drop one slot that you had an almost 60% chance to be right or off by one. You are a true soothsayer!

https://hoopshype.com/lists/2024-aggregate-mock-draft-donovan-clingan-and-zach-edey-rising-before-combine/

When looking at Scotto's latest aggregate mock, everyone outside of the top 10 prospects has a draft range so wide (extending to pick 19 or later) that pretty much anyone outside of the top 10 could realistically be available at pick 19, considering how wide open this draft is.

Same thing with everyone outside the top 18 when looking at pick 31 options. Draft ranges are extremely wide for a lot of prospects this year probably because of how weak and unpredictable this draft is widely perceived as.

Top 18 on this aggregate mock is:
1 Sarr
2 Risacher
3 Buzelis
4 Dillingham
5 Topic
6 Clingan
7 Sheppard
8 Castle
9 Holland
10 Williams

11 Knecht
12 Walter
13 Collier
14 Salaun
15 Filipowski
16 McCain
17 Carter
18 Missi
Tre Mann should have been a Top 10 Pick in the 2021 Draft

Bobi Klintman intrigues me if we want to get back some big wings/forwards back after trading away OG and Pascal. Potential starter (not from year 1 I think), cuts well off the ball and has some shooting upside. What do you guys think?

So every team will have one-full-sleep to think about who didn't get drafted. The 2nd round is the perfect place for teams that love a player but are scared of making a 4-year commitment. If teams see guys they love not get picked in the 1st round, they will be calling Masai and Bobby asking what it will take to get Pick #31. If M&B play their cards correctly, they could create a bidding war amongst teams that have players on their draft boards that they want, but can't get a read on how much longer they will be available. Only way they can guarantee that their desired guy will be theirs will be to step up and pay.

All of which is to say - it would not shock me if TOR only uses Pick #19 and "sells" Pick #31 to the highest bidder.

Generally if everyone's calling to buy that pick, you probably shouldn't be selling it. Especially when in you need talent as desperately as we do.

Right now, I'm leaning toward Holmes at #19 and Simpson at #31.

I also think this is the year to buy into the draft. If Memphis misses out on Clingan (and they probably will) maybe we can swing something for Poeltl. Kennard + Clarke + 9 for Poeltl and McDaniels could work for both teams.

Oso Ighodaro measured 6'9.5" with a 6'11" wingspan.
Better than I expected. Decent size for a small ball C/ PF

The Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies are reportedly expected to be active shopping their lottery picks ahead of the 2024 NBA draft.

ESPN's Zach Lowe reported the Rockets and Grizzlies are both motivated to win next season and could parlay their picks into veteran help. Houston moved up in the lottery to earn the No. 3 selection, while Memphis sits at No. 9.

Alot of signals about how weak this draft if a top 3 and 9 pick are already being shopped.

Either way I can't even see us having enough assets for just the 9th pick.

I dont think the 9th has same value like in years past. This is likely comparable to a 15 + pick. Could be a scenario if Raps REALLY like someone, they swap picks with a team like the Grizz. I just doubt it considering what this top 10 is looking like

Memphis would move #9 for Poeltl in a heartbeat.

Going by that hoopshype mock that was just posted with 8 Castle 9 Holland 10 Williams 11 Knecht that seems kinda normal 3rd tier talent/upside for that range imo. The top lacks juice for sure

Undoing a previous mistake for a pick in a so-called weak draft. Would be fitting for Masai.

I admit I don't know anywhere near enough about the players in this year's draft. If this draft is mostly role players, then I think Raps should gamble on Cody Williams (yes chances are he goes top ten), Edey, and Scheirman in this draft.

According to the wiretap, Memphis is interested in trading the #9 pick for immediate help.

What could we offer?

Memphis would want Poeltl but I'm not sure #9 in this draft is enough, especially considering we'd need to take on Kennard and Clarke.

Memphis would probably have to pay #9 and a future 1st for me to bite.

This sounds about right. I don't know much about Missi but I'm familiar with the rest. If the draft goes down like this, you probably should swing on Ware or Holmes. All the best guards are gone and these bigs won't last until #31.

Take either one here and get a guard at #31.
