Woke is now used every time that someone does not like something or anytime someone suggests change, something new or any kind of progress.

To get back to Unity . It was one of the name suggests by ChatGPT. To be fair the AI of ChatGPT is impressive but still very weak and can pretty much put any name in the dictionary that is not too controversial as a potential name .

But while it’s definitely not my choice or far from being my preferred option I kinda like Unity because I think Team sports need to be played with unity . Also I like to think that Fans and a whole city can come together and support one and the other.

Overall while I am not against. I think I would still prefer a team name that can be put on plurals (as oppose to an idea or a concept )

More like woke people would find a way to call it offensive.

Unity to me is vague and generic. Yes sports require unity aka teamwork but that's nothing specific to Toronto or Canada. Something with local flavor would be better.

Don't want non-plural words that are difficult to convert to singular. I am a Unity is failure.

Fair enough I myself prefer a plural word . Mainly because I want to identify as of one Raptor , one Canadiens, one Canucks, etc .

Lady Raptors? Raptorettes?

Just kidding but I think most dino names are cumbersome and hard to pronounce.

I like Diamonds suggested above, but it's not so Toronto oriented.

But obviously kinda agree its not really Toronto oriented .

I am a Heat? Magic? Thunder?
I'm not saying Unity is a good name but i don't think the noun has to be plural.

I dislike Heat, Magic and Thunder.

I am a Thunder just doesn't make sense.

As far as I know they have selected a name as of yet, and if it is maybe we use Athena (was one of the twelve chief Olympian deities and the goddess associated with wisdom, craft, and warfare)

Love the Athena logo except for the colour, I personally like to see blue, white and red combo

Why?

Cause it robs any possibility for the real team to take back its name. Create an original one.

What real team? The Raptors? We're never changing the name to the Huskies.

I really want raccoons except it just sounds aweful.

Also, don't generalize like that. It makes you less perceptive. People who like to bully others are universal to all groups (yes generally speaking).

Beavers would be great, I mean it even ties into our money. But for a lot of reasons there's no way that's going to get the okay.

I think a good alternate name I haven't seen suggested is the silent night flyer, the wise, the deadly...

The Toronto Hooters.

Score X points and free wings at Hooters!

Also, it would only be suitable to have Hooters as the main shirt sponsor.

Toronto Claws

I'm thinking it's a play off our name. Huskies would be solid too in passing the tradition torch.

Huskies would be a nice nod to basketball history in the city, but giving the WNBA team a unique identity.

It does represent all the fake nails being worn.
