Am I weird for thinking Knies' pass to Nylander was even more impressive?

Not sure; it's more a hunch. Goalies are quirky. I read last year that Boston's starter Ullmark was not 100 percent. And Swayman was good to go. But still the coach went with Ullmark.

Bodes well for the future (with Cowan and Minten waiting in the wings). Last year I always thought Knies was a prototypical power forward but this season he showed glimpses of his dynamic ability and creativity on offence.

Definitely a great play by Knies to protect the puck and draw in the defender to get Nylander the breakaway.

The pass was right on the tape too.

And it's about instilling confidence. If Leafs had started Woll in Game 1 and he flopped, then they'd have to go back to Samsanov after having signalled that they didn't believe in him.

Yes. Goalies are quirky. You have to handle them with kid gloves. But if this series establishes nothing else, it has settled the goaltender controversy.

Would Matthew's playing in game 7 disrupt the Leafs momentum?

Knies and Woll form an axis of pain for other teams. The future.

Give me more Edmundson. Lyubushkin has done amazing things on every shift. Benoit is so crafty. Even McCabe has managed to keep his brain farts down to a minimum.

The D-core is just obliterating guys. This was the fundamental shift in philosophy from Dubas to Treliving. Over a long series players lose confidence knowing they're going to get destroyed and not come up with an advantage.

Three or four games ago, someone on sports radio was suggesting that TJ Brodie should be back in the rotation, on the theory that the Leafs apparently needed another puck-handling defenceman. Are you effin' kidding me?

Playing Brodie would have cost Keefe his job.

They absolutely played one of their better playoff games during this entire current era. Having a solid/steady goaltender back there in Woll has certainly done wonders for all their confidence and it certainly helped that the Bruins have all the look of a team properly rattled/shook by the thought of another series collapse. But the Leafs did what they needed to do, played a proper, hard game and stood right up there with the Bruins for three whole periods.

The crowd also did their job and were 100% into it and behind the team when they needed it most.

We all know the history of game 7s against the Bruins and this may well end up the same way but if the Leafs play as well on Saturday as they did last night and they'll certainly have a chance of advancing.

The great play from Knies isn't surprising. He was one of their more effective forwards last year too before he got injured against Tampa and was still right in there against the Panthers even though he was hurt. Him turning out/living up to his potential is exactly what the team have needed and we can only hope our other top prospects on the cusp (Cowen/Minten/etc) also make it too.

That's one of those questions that will be impossible to answer, and would be a really annoying sports "media" debate should they lose with him in the line-up.

Just keep giving the faceoffs to Domi... lines be damned.

I'll keep checking on the pundits that had an issue with the Easton Cowan pick now that he has an MVP from a hard league.

Just some wild **** over here:

2013 Toronto vs. Boston:
Boston wins game 1, Leafs win game 2, Boston wins games 3 and 4, Leafs win game 5 and 6, Boston wins game 7.

2018 Toronto vs Boston:
Boston wins game 1, Leafs win game 2, Boston wins games 3 and 4, Leafs win game 5 and 6, Boston wins game 7.

2024 Toronto vs Boston:
Boston wins game 1, Leafs win game 2, Boston wins games 3 and 4, Leafs win game 5 and 6, AND ????????

This is like deja vu...hopefully different the 3rd time around.

Marchand's presser was wild in subtle ways... I wonder what he'll be like in game 7.

They absolutely need a puck moving defenseman, but they don't need 5 of them.
