What a piece of ****. He's such a baby. Is Robinson out now, or is he fine?

Hah, Precious looked pretty good against Embiid in the 2022 playoffs. Wonder if he gets a chance in Game 4?

He had 10 minutes chance last night when Robinson couldn't return. Made a few good plays. Nice dunk off a Brunson pocket pass. A stop on Embiid. He's too small for Embiid long term, but I like how, when Embiid screens for Maxey, both OG and Precious are capably switchable in that scenario. Whereas Hartenstein switching out on Maxey is not good. Precious will definitely get his chance if Robinson can't go .

Edit - and a block shot on Maxey on a drive

We aren't there yet, but a Nuggets/Twolves series could be a great one.

Pretty sad what's happening with Kawhi.

He looked like old man Danny Granger out there last night. It really does seem like 2019 was the last time his body could hold up for an NBA season + playoffs

I’m just glad the old men coasting in the regular season thinking they can magically turn it on in the playoffs are getting a rude awakening.
I believe in Masai.

I've said it before but Ishbia is finding out you can't just come in waving your billions around and thinking a title is inevitable. Ballmer failed at it too.

This trend over the last few years of teams throwing all their picks at a disgruntled superstar is proving not to be fruitful. Is the Jrue Holiday to Milwaukee trade the last time a team won it all following such a move?

It's just harder to win now when you have 3 max/supermax guys surrounded by mostly scrubs. The pace is so fast now that you need quality depth otherwise everyone will get worn out, and teams have become too good at exploiting your weak links. In the past, you could hide a bad defender or non shooter, but it's become increasingly tougher to do so.

Especially with the new cap changes, you probably got to pick your best or two best, highly paid guys and surround them with 6-7 quality rotation players. These top heavy teams will struggle to make it through the long season.

Maybe it's just me but I am finding there aren't as many aged 30+ players having an impact. Not sure we can call it a trend yet but all the teams currently coasting in the playoffs are led by their best player who is still in their 20s. The new era has most definitely arrived.

Even when Dame went lights out in the 1H of Game 1, he ended up barely doing anything in the 2H and Doc admitted it's because he ran out of gas. Middleton was amazing last night but you can tell he was ready to pass out near the end there, while the Pacers looked like they could play another 6 OTs.

Of course it's impressive when a 39-year old Lebron posts a triple double in the regular season, but doing that on a random Tuesday night in February is a hell of a lot easier than doing it in the playoffs against a good team. Just like Durant can drop 35 on any given night in the regular season, but he hasn't had a superstar type of impact in the playoffs for 3 years now, when the intensity picks up.

Setting aide any previous moves I hated, I am so glad Masai never increased his offer to land Dame or Durant. I am also glad he never maxed a 30-year old Siakam. Yeah he's been awesome so far but recent history and tons of data show that it's likely you are going to get diminishing returns on that 5-year contract (whereas he absolutely outperformed the contract he just finished).

I really liked what Danny Ainge said about Utah's approach to the offseason - looking to add star quality player but no old, past their prime guys (see Durant, Lillard types) - hope Raptors follow this approach.

I liked how Greg Anthony pointed that out, how OG arched his body and rolled off so as to minimize the weight on Maxey's ankle. He could have hurt him if he was like Embiid

They acquired Olynyk, now 33 yrs old.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I'm so glad Masai didn't trade for KD. He's made some bad decisions in recent years, but this non-move was one of his best. I think a lot of GMs would have traded Scottie and picks for KD and we'd be in the same position the Suns are in right now.

Too bad that Nuggets didn’t get the 1st seed, then they would have met in the West finals. Now one is going to get knocked out in the 2nd round.

Cavs looking like the Jazz with Mitchell that couldn’t get out of the first round. If they can’t beat the Magic they have no hopes of ever making a splash in the playoffs. LeBron would actually be great for them if he decided to return.

Cavs need to deal Jarrett Allen or Evan Mobley. This combo isn't producing in the playoffs. They got exposed last year against NY and now against Orlando.

Either that or Evan Mobley isn't the phenom that many pegged him to be all these years. Bill Simmons being so high on him comparing him to Kevin Garnett is easily the dumbest thing he has said. They are nothing alike.

Is Mobley's projection that of an elite role player?

Very elite, but I think yes.
