Developing Scottie. It’s obvious if you stop trying to fit everything into your narrow agenda.

Is 17 then 18+ million a good contract for a 12 point player?

Yeah it's real easy to see.

Adding Ochai is to add a good defensive guy who comes off the bench. Maybe he develops more.
Adding Olynyk adds more size that we lost in recent trades and expectations are gets re-signed.
Getting 2 rotation players for #26-30 pick is great value.
Still have #31 so can still target a guy in that pick range
Moving off Dennis moves a guy who was starting to cause lockerroom issues
Moving Dennis and waiving Din clears cap space for next year
Waiving Din opens 26-30 minutes a game to be given other guys
Barnes now gets the ball in his hands more

They only pop up when he has one good game every 10 games

Olynyk is an excellent type of player for a rebuilding team: cost effective floor spacing big who can pass and won't soak up too much usage. His defensive limitations aren't a huge issue because he helps your young guards/wings operate in a healthy offensive environment.

Schroder is the opposite. Needs the ball in his hands and isn't good enough off-ball to make life easier for the guys who you actually want to have the ball (Barnes and Quickley).

Given the path of this team I would try and move Poeltl (who is more of a win-now player) this off-season and try and bring back Olynyk on another MLE level deal. Obviously we could keep both for the time being. Olynyk's one of the few vet guys I think you can justify keeping because his skillset/role allows young guys growth opportunity. His defense isn't strong enough to really effect winning (which we don't need right now) but he definitely helps with player development.

Conley kinda broke the code though didn't he? Taking a 3 when the game is over. Dennis is hot blooded I don't mind that. It's not knowing his role that I think works against him.

The Nets put up 86 points on a Minnesota team on a back to back missing Gobert. They don't deserve any respect.

If the shot clock is on I dont see an issue
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Did he though? There was way too much difference between game clock and shot clock in this one that I think it should be ok.

Did he though? There was way too much difference between game clock and shot clock in this one that I think it should be ok.

In the Nets game we just played, we ran the complete shot clock down and turned it over and then the Nets jacked a three at the buzzer. I guess that is the model that Dennis is going for in his blowout losses. Poor Dennis. Imagine coming off the bench behind Ben Simmons in 2024. Like what the hell are they thinking starting Claxton and Simmons? How is that ever going to work?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

It's probably for Quickley's sake at PG (he'd end up off ball more with Dennis here for like 5-10 minutes a night you'd figure) and even Barrett who can playmake more with real shooters like Agbaji and Dick playing more than a meh shooter in Dennis. Just good to get more touches to the younger guys, whether they're here long-term or eventually get traded.

Maybe that’s a by-product but they’ve given all the backup point minutes to Scottie, are pairing him and Kelly together, and when they play IQ with Scottie and Kelly, they’re playing IQ off ball. It’s pretty clear what they were going for there.

Yeah I left out the word "also". It's definitely with a view to getting Scottie on the ball more. Basically there are probably young teams where the players might benefit from having a just okay PG (Spurs maybe), but we aren't one of them.
