How did Mr. Canada go from hitting unlimited cold blooded game winning buzzer beaters against a decorated franchise and goat tier player and 100 level shooting on step backs and any type of shot in the clutch to crashing out and going out sad a week later?

He's clearly still dealing with the injury it seems, and he just wasn't that good against a complete nothing defender in Reaves on him all series. He just clutched it out in close games. He's dealing with actual length and defense now and regular season looking Jamaal just isn't going to cut it here

But I trust Masai. If he tanks properly, I think he can build a dynasty. He almost already did it (if Kawhi stayed one more season). He will do it again with 2 more tank seasons.

They were bad for a long time.

Under .500 for 15 of 16 seasons with multiple #1 picks, 12 top 10 picks, and 7 top 5 picks.

If the tank gets beyond 2-3 seasons, you’re just bad.

Edit: although if we add a little more context, in 2018 when they traded for Jimmy they were a playoff team. Then Jimmy left and they were trash again. But the tank (or just bad?) in 2020 shows how one player can change everything.

I’m pro tanking but the Wolves aren’t the standard. They were a horrible team that got a generational talent in Edwards and then overpaid for Gobert.

Pacers got robbed. One of the worst calls in NBA playoff history. But Haliburton still being a garbage fraud that sold his soul for an all star appearance doesn't help. McConnell should be starting over him

Had they subbed McConnell in for Haliburton down the stretch, they probably win. The Pacers play a stupid brand of basketball and Haliburton is the catalyst that it all stems from. I am not going to get all hyperbolic and say he's garbage but the kid does need a lot of work. First and foremost he needs to hit the gym badly. Then he needs to work on his D to bring it up to "bad level" instead of the atrocious level it's at now.

There is a greaten than zero chance Indy is going to max Siakam to be their best player, and I don't think that was the original plan.

And they had a bunch of bust picks and made idiotic moves like trading Wiggins and the pick that would be Kuminga to for D’Angelo Russell.

The whole point of tanking is to get the franchise changing player, then surround them with enough talent to win. That’s why tanking makes sense, but you have to hit on at least some picks.

Decent all around play but we don’t need to have a referendum every time he plays well like he’s some top 20 player that we’ll regret trading for the rest of our lives.

He has all of the spacing in the world, playing in a system with insane tempo, has the greenest light on the team and still can’t even average mid to high 20’s per game.

We can stop pretending that surrounding him with a 5 out offence would suddenly make him a superstar or that’s something worth investing a 5 year $250M max into.

He’s a very good player who is a decent 2nd option on a playoff team and a great third option on a contender. Enough with the pining.

I'm going to repost what I wrote earlier in a thread about rule changes.

Let defenders be more physical, don't call every single bump as a blocking foul and things will normalize again. It is not rocket science.

This game was exhibit A, B & C. Yes, players are more skilled and better shooters now, but when you cannot convince me that over 50% of the league scoring more efficiently than the peak Warriors is due to higher skill.

Brunson and Hart are going to gas before the Celtics for sure. The Knicks do have this next man up type of mentality where guys like Divo/McBride/Precious/OG step up but that’s easier in regular season versus playoff ball. It’s working so far but Thibs will need to go into his bench more for at least one game.
