Trading him was one of the best things to ever happen to this franchise.

In the intro presser with BC he said so now you want me. Or, you finally got me. As if to say yeah was you Brian Colangelo who took Bargs over ME! Colangelo needed to say nah I took Bargs over LeMarcus Aldridge. He also said Raps were so bad he naturally had to be alpha or number one option. The platter Masai got for him turned the franchise around. He was trash. Put another way he should have been so much better than he was. He was a role player from a horrible draft.

But you can't grill the guy for being honest. And many of y'all overrate this City. Especially for players from the US playing the bulk of the season in winter.

If I was born in the US I'd more then likely feel the exact same way.

Meh Rudy is from NY though. Anyhow his opinion, his choice. Meh

I’d be more upset if we actually liked him here. I wanted him at the draft at #1 but after his stint here, I realized that would have been a mistake

I won't lie - I was excited when that trade happened. The Raptors weren't very good. I wasn't that familiar with Gay's game, but he had the reputation of being a good player, he was buddies with Lowry, and I knew of his "NO, NOT THIS GUY" moments.

Then I started to watch him play for us.

...aaaaaand the next time I was excited about Rudy Gay was when we traded his ass to Sacramento. The only positive impact that guy had on the Raptors was the assets that Masai converted him into.

It shows he’s still butt hurt about the whole thing which I’m kind of surprised about. We started winning as soon as he left.

Some of us felt the same way in reverse there Rudy.

I still have the text from a friend in Memphis the day of the trade... "hahah good luck!"

Dude crapped on Memphis after the trade.. kudos to the consistency.

Basketball related things aside he isn't terribly wrong. Yes he got payed boat loads of money but he didn't get any say. He got drafted to the honky capital of the US, and traded to a different country.
