I'd love to bring him back as an assistant coach.

Lowry may want to ring chase but there aren’t a lot of teams that need his services. He basically got cut by Miami (a contender at the time) and got picked up by the 76ers and didn’t really change much there. We may want to bring him back home more as a player coach type, but don’t expect him to impact winning.

I wouldn't say he wasn't cut by the Heat.

He was the matching contract for a better player at this point in Terry Rozier.
If they couldn't use his contract to improve via trade, they would have certainly kept him as a bench player.

If he is willing to accept an 10-18 minute role per game on a cheap contract, I think a few good teams would still be interested.
I just don't see us as a fit for where he wants to be right now.

That being said, if for whatever reason the role he wants is here, I'm not saying no.

Lowry has already said he will retire a Raptor one day, even if signing a 1 day deal. But as a player? Likely not.

I think we're one year away from lowry being at that stage. A contender will still give him a shot and he'll want to play for something for as long as he can, I'm sure. He's just that competitive.

If he signs to like a spurs or something though I'll be a little annoyed lol

I think he'd be a great piece as a Udonis Haslem type role, as a mentor and one who can play minutes here and there

His IQ and mentoring would be amazing for guys like IQ and Barnes, like having a 2nd coach
