A team with no depth, injury prone players... blame the coach!

They chose to add another wing in Beal instead of building a proper well balanced team around KD and Booker without a PG. Then when it predictably fails...... blame the coach

Vogel had that team middle of the pack defensively, which is an insane achievement. Their offense did really suck relative to personnel, but I'm not sure that's a coaching issue when the roster issues are staring us all in the face.

I'd love to bring him here as an Associate HC to handle the defense alongside Darko, but doubt he's up for that kind of role on a team like ours.

Brings in Beal to play alongside Booker and act like him and his gigantic contract is what makes him part of a 'Big 3' haha.

Exactly the same thing when the Lakers got too clever and brought in Westbrook instead of building depth around AD and Lebron.

What a disaster in such a short amount of time. It's actually impressive how quickly they ruined their team for the next half-decade (at least).

Especially since Booker / Bridges / Ayton was a nice core to start with to and one that won 64 **** games and made the finals.

IMO should have stuck with that and made smaller moves. Not the huge ones they did.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

lol, the new owner of the Suns is a mess. Look at the way Minnesota is playing versus the Nuggets. The Suns never had a chance.

I blame the owner for this than anyone else in that org. He called the shots and here are the consequences. Let the basketball people run the show.

Vogel is unlucky. Fired twice by dysfunctional franchises. Wonder if he gets another chance. Suns are easily one of the worst run teams in the NBA and that’s saying a lot in a league with the likes of the Hornets and Wizards.

Vogel was hired for 5 years for 31M. Presuming they have to pay him the rest like other coach firings unless hired by another team, that's not bad at all lol.

Would be even funnier if they end up rebuilding anyways because KD/Booker asks out.

I think it's a fallacy to think someone can be a great coach just because they are intelligent, analytical and speak eloquently.

JJ knows basketball well, but coaching is way more than that...can you manage an entire team, including your staff, deal with different personalities, allocating playing time properly, managing ego's, developing schemes on the fly, being able to adjust in-game, motivate players, get them to buy, deal with refs in-game etc etc etc.

It's one thing to be a great analyzer of basketball from afar but another to actually be in the game itself.

I think it's a bit foolish for any team to hire a guy with 0 coaching experience at the top level. It was like when they put guys like Nash and Fisher in recent years without any experience and they both failed badly.

So maybe JJ Reddick can be a great coach, but I think he should join the bench as an assistant for at least 2-3 years and learn how it works from the sidelines before being thrust into that main role. It's a recipe for disaster.
