The 10 day contract season is upon us. Who would you replace D-Mart with?

I like Dwayne Mitchell 6'5" slashing guard who knows how to draw fouls.

For rebounding help I also like Rod Benson a 6'11" PF who just has the nose for the boards.

PG consideration Randy Livingston has had a 22 Assist game and is very experienced.

With Garbo out indefinitely, the Raptors don't have to drop anyone in order to add a player.

Are you certain of that?

I don't think they can do that quite yet.

Garbo still absorbs a roster spot as do players assigned to the D-League. The Raps currently have all 15 roster spots filled. D-Mart's contract is the break in case of emergency contract.

In terms of where PT will come from for the call-up I would suggest having it be situational based on performance, injury, and match-up. I know it's nit-picking in trying to find a replacement for our 14th roster spot but the potential of Benson or Mitchell taking PT from the regular rotational players may be a refreshing shake up that the guys need. Otherwise its a low risk - low cost gamble with a potentially large upside.

Bottom line is the Raptors MUST rebound better consistently and need players in addition to Bosh who are willing to drive and get banged in order to draw fouls. Both players suggested are capable of fulfilling these two roles.

the last guy on that list averaged 45.5 minutes a season in the nba for four seasons six years ago.

this makes me a bit suspicious of the other two who dont have any nba experience whatsoever.

if we're gonna find help, its definately not gonna be from a 10 day contract.

Remember, Rafer and Jannero were 10 days for us.

OK - I can understand you mentioning Rafer - but why Pargo? Has he done anything of any particular value that merits him being mentioned as a benefit of 10 day contracts?

I'm confused.

I'd be more interested in Rod's teammate Carlos Powell, but we're running a little high on swing players right now.

I predict that we see Andre Barrett back here again, signed to a 10 day contract and Darrick Martin kicked up to the coaching staff.

Barrett's NDBL stats have been solid.
