Re: Is JO's Injury a Smokescreen?
eh...i called it the moment he went "down".
the video clip clearly showed that O'Neal did not bump knees as they claimed.
he went after a loose ball....couldn't reach it....and stayed on the ground.
of course, it sounds better to say he's sitting out b/c of a knee injury as opposed to "he's got the flu".
BUT.....to be out this long....over an injury that he faked?
not cool.

I love the raps, whoever plays for them I support them to the fullest.
same with O'Neil, when he went down with injure I thought he will
be out for a while.. however, no word came about him for quite a
while now, no face, no voice.. nothing. I too think that something is
going on behind the scenes, but would not be surprised if its a team
other than miami. I expect a surprise and a question to be raised
about who we get, Mario would be ideal, but it'd be too good to be
true, I'll be on the Create-A-Player option. (?)
we'll see, but I think its more than just rest.

Re: Is JO's Injury a Smokescreen?
i know everyone is saying we think everything is a smokescreen on this board. It just seems fishy to me, calderon is taking part in the shoot around today, but JO hasent done any drills, hasent spoke to the media and we havent heard anything about his injury. Just think about it when we saw him bang knees alot of us were worried kind of like what happened against newjersey. He atleast came out spoke to the media, showed them his knee and we got a time frame to when he will be back. We didnt get one this time, he hasent been even at the games, not taking part in drills, not speaking to the media. I just think something fishy is up and that miami is worried about his knees holding up which is why Zo is a insurance big for them because why would they want a 39 year old starting?

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Miami's got their eyes on Boozer. They have cap space from Marion's contract this offseason, and judging by the way Utah's salary situation and Millsap's performance, they very well may be looking to woo Boozer. So they come to a decision, they want J.O's shot knees for this season and the next, or Boozer for long term. Me, I'd pass on the senior citizen.
So do the Pistons. There's no guarantee he'd go to Miami, and especially with Boozer nothing's a sure thing.

Re: Is JO's Injury a Smokescreen?
Okay here's a little added trade idea to this topic.... BC is looking for a third team to get involved...here you go...I think all 3 teams get what they want..
Miami trades James Jones and Shawn Marion
Dallas trades Jerry Stackhouse, Josh Howard and Desangia Diop
Toronto trades Jermaine O'Neal and Jamario Moon
Toronto gets James Jones, Josh Howard and Desangia Diop
Dallas ends up with Shawn Marion and maybe Jamario Moon
Miami gets Jermaine O'Neal and Stackhouse - expirings coming up..
Not sure if these kind of trades work....but you never know..salaries match though..

Re: Is JO's Injury a Smokescreen?
The smokescreen is the fact that he's pretty badly injured. From what we could tell it wasn't the knee that usually gives him trouble. But there's no reason to think he can't just have issues with his "good" knee.

Re: Is JO's Injury a Smokescreen?
id do that leaves us with:
Calderon/Roko/Solomon
Parker/Kapono/Jones
Howard/Graham
Bosh/Hump/Jawai
Bargnani/Diop/Voskhul
why did you say though that BC is looking to get a third team involved?

Re: Is JO's Injury a Smokescreen?
What makes the situation most curious is the fact that I'm sure the fans and the media would love to hear JO weigh in on how well Bargnani is playing over the past 6 games and maybe get an early gauge on his feelings on perhaps coming off the bench.
I didn't catch the Houston game but O'Neal wasn't even on the bench for the games against Denver and Orlando at home. For an injury that seemed to kind of poof in from nowhere it seems very odd that he can't even be at the arena.
Was O'Neal even in the building during the Raps workouts on thursday or friday? It doesn't seem like it. I'm pretty interested to see if he's at the game tonight. If he isn't tonight then something is definitely up... not necessarily a trade or anything like that, but something.
