Raps work out Antoine Walker!

Post#1 » by supersub15 » Sun Feb 22, 2009 12:15 pm

Before acquiring 7-footer Patrick O'Bryant from the Boston Celtics, they had conducted, according to sources, workouts in Toronto with NBA veterans Antoine Walker and Pops Mensah-Bonsu, a couple of free agent big men who might have joined the team.

And even though they addressed the need for size with the addition of O'Bryant, there still is a chance they could add a veteran big man, or even a veteran shooting guard, before the end of the regular season.

This reminds of Grunwald's last season, when we had 24 players at different times during the season and tried just about every semi-retired player in the NBA.

Just give it up, Colangelo!

Sam wasn't the solution, but he wasn't the problem either

Ugg please spare me. This is either a desperate plan by Colangelo or a veiled attempt to tank.

The team certainly could have used another two guard a while back (Luke Jackson?) but honestly, what's the point now?

Antoine wouldnt be a bad pickup. We're starving for bigs on this team, and its not like we're gonna be paying him big money either. He would definitely help against 2nd string big men. Im not against this signing.

Im against it...WHY?!??!!? The season is long gone and done. Just bring the team out to the back and end it peacefully and quietly. Stop with the veiled attempts at trying to put a run together and get to the playoffs. It ISN'T happening.

What type of real Raptors' fan wouldn't mind seeing a little bit of

and

during the remaining 20 odd games of a failed season that has the stench of regression and long term collapse all over it.

Colangelo just keeps on showing the Raptors fan base how much of a :censored: he is.

Reading that link, Doug said his sources told him they were going to waive Will Solomon and sign one of those guys if they couldn't trade him. Will Solomon had a guaranteed contract and we had 2 open spots on the roster. Tell me how that makes sense. I think this is just one out of many times where Doug is wrong. We might have worked him out but I don't think we'll be signing him.

Who doesn't like a big man that can spread the floor like Antoine? The guy is not shy about firing up 3's and this would allow Bosh to work down low in the post. How could the opponent guard this one two combo? Bosh working the lane and Antoine chucking away.

I love watching big's that can hit 3's. If only Antoine was a few inches taller then we could throw him in as our starting 7 foot centre with an outside weapon that would be the envy of the league.

I have never liked this guy, infact I remember watching him through his career and wanting to punch him in the face everytiem I seen him. Not only are we looking to trade away some of my fav players every year but we are also bringing in some that I absolutely hate. Its really tough being a raptors fan right now, never before has my loyalty to this team been so questioned and its not the record its the fact all my fav guys are beign traded in favour of soft unatheltic garbage.

Aside from Marion and Joey Graham and at times Bargnani this team has nothing for me to watch and knowing management Joey will be gone in the summer as we continue to try and keep our soft core happy.

If we are going to bring in anyone else i'd like Mikki Moore but who in their right mind works out Antione walker, embarrassing.

Maybe when Stern told Bryan and MLSE to join forces a few years ago he told Bryan to destroy our franchise so the NBA could get out of Canada :-?

Thats the same way I feel. There's very few players on this team that I actually like watching.
