-- Always look at body of NCAA work, because a good run in the tournament can be misleading (cites Ed Pickney being taken over Karl Malone, then jokingly says he defers blame to "someone else")
-- Try to narrow it down to 20 names in the U.S. and 10 names internationally that he needs to go out and see personally
-- Used to be able to scout high schools, but now it's just the McDonald's Game, the Hoop Summit, the Jordan-Brand Classic
-- Pay attention to pre-season tournaments too
-- Sometimes they see a guy 5-7 times before the end of the year

He sounds tired.

"There's clearly a #1 pick in this draft"
"You might get something at 10 that you get at 4, something at 15 that you get at 5"

"There's a number of players I like in that 12-20 range"
"We will be looking to acquire another pick if we feel they'll be there"

Might trade down.

-- Asked who he likes so far, says he can't say because he'll get fined
-- Says there's clearly a Number 1 pick in this draft, and it's obvious
-- You might get someone at 10 who you should get at 4, or someone at 15 you could get at 5
-- A lot of guys he likes in the draft
-- A handful of players in the "upper tier"
-- A lot of "decent" players
-- Not a deep draft
-- After 20 or so names, you start scratching your head a bit, and you say is it worth getting a pick or not?
-- A number of players he likes in the sweet spot of the draft, between 12 and 25
-- He will be looking to acquire another pick if he feels like one of those guys will be there
-- Might trade down (this is just in response to Bobcat's question, it wasn't unsolicited)

There are a bunch I guys I like in the 10-25 range, we might be looking to acquire another pick.

Jay isn't being judged on win-loss.

-- Hasn't decided on Triano
-- Says he will sit down at the end of the year and make the recommendation to the board at the right time
-- Jay has done a "real solid job given the circumstances he's been put in"
-- Not judging based on W/L record
-- Judging on his message, and the way Triano interacts with players
-- Knows Triano has respect of players
-- It would be hard to bring everybody together, but now that we're healthy, Chris is tuned in more than ever, Jose is healthy and finally seemingly over that mental hurdle of knowing that he's going to extend himself, everything is coming together

-- Seems like we're going to end the season strong, thinks that's a very good thing
-- But Jay wasn't being judged on just that
-- It's a body of work, everything he's been doing
-- Given the circumstances, the injuries, the in-season trade, he's been dealt a bad hand and he's kept his chin up through it all and handled himself great
-- Those are all very good signs

BC is off the air now.

Bobcat has been very critical of the team and indirectly at BC this season, and now that he had him on the show he didn't even ask him any tough questions.

Looks he will he acknowledge that the team did finish the season strong, but he'll look at the body of work throughout this season in making decisions in the offseason. That's basically the main point that I got out of that interview.

Also, it looks like he's going to try to acquire another pick.

I hope he is just selling the potential of this team to the public because Chicago, OKC, LAC and Milwaukee...

Triano doesn't seem to get respect from the refs, I wont be so excited next year if he is back as head coach. Love that he is Canadian, but I just wont be.

He seemed a bit inconsistent on the second part. With one breath, he seemed to say there was no one worthwhile beyond the 20 spot, but then he said there were a few people he really liked in the 12-25 area. So I'm not sure what he has up his sleeve, which I guess is business as usual.

Remember the good old days when a GM supporting his coach was the Kiss of Death?
